weird web browsing issue

Post by seremtan »

this is weird. i just came back to find the only bookmark i can load (FF) is q3w - no other bookmarks will load. all the images in threads (from external domains) are replaced by the word 'Image'. IE7 will load q3w pages (but no other sites), though it takes about 2 minutes to load each page, and all the images are red x'd. popmail is fine and contacts the mail server no worries

it's like the entire internet has shrunk down to q3w. now that's just fucking tragic

anyone had this happen to them before?

Was happening regularly to me when ISP had DNS issues... which is your likely issue as well.

It also shows that you refresh q3w more than anything else, since it's the only thing cached in your local dns resolver

Sounds like a DNS issue and q3w images are in your cache.

Start -> Run -> cmd

ipconfig /flushdns

Then q3w won't load anymore either and you'll be cured!

Unless he has quake3world.com added to his hosts file. What do domain names like google.com or yahoo.com resolve to (from the command line, type `nslookup domain.tld`)?

it appears to have been resolved now. i think q3w worked in FF because session manager had that as the last site i visited before closing FF

these kind of moronic outages are getting more frequent. i never used to have this problem with my ISP (onetel) :rolleyes:

p.s. lol @ BawL posting 4chan memes like he thinks he's one of the cool kids
