Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
With the new game out for the PSP I decided to see what the original FFVII sells for no ebay. Anyone know why the game is so expensive? Anywhere from $50 and up to buy a 10 year old game. Was the game rare to begin with during its production (I had a copy a long time ago but gave it away with my PS1.)

FF7 is just that good.. the game is Epic for its story, its Characters, the twists, how it plays...
honestly, i am yet to play another game that takes you in as much as that one..
its kinda funny that you mention this, i am going on a roadtrip with the rents for a bit, and i've got a PSX emulator on my lappy with FFT and FF7...
*looks at 3 copys of FF7.... $50 and up ehh?*
btw, has anyone played FF13?

Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII never really went down in price, and never should. $50 is how much you should pay for such awesomeness.
Amidy, are you sure you don't mean FF12? 13 isn't anywhere near being out yet.

I played through 12 and it was quite good because it wasn't as 'cheery' as X, X-2 (both of which I didn't play).

Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
indeed, the X's where a let down, i hated 8... 9 was "good".. 7 was the climax of the series as far as i can see..
Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
You didn't miss much, TNF. Ungh, I still get shudders thinking about the forced laugh scene. Anyone who's played knows what I'm talking about.
You may like FF8. I think the story was underrated and a lot better than people gave it credit for. The combat can't touch 12's though.

50 bucks, really? Shit I'm selling my copy. I never made it that far in it, just didn't tickle my clit. I also bought it for 20 bucks as a greatest hit.
Edit: Fucking lol, sold in less than an hour with a buy it now at 55 bucks.
thanks tnf.

Mmm well, I think you'll find the gameplay (LOL RPGS) to be a bit boring compared to FFXII, but the setting, characters, and MUSIC are all really, really cool.
It's a legendary game as far I'm concerned.

This line only remake is total rubbish I've ever seen!!! Fuck off!!! --CZghost
Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
also dont overpay for a Platinum version. real men have to original.
and yes. its comparable to having one of the first printed Beatles albums. its old, it doesnt have the best audio or visual quality, but its just that good.
as for the game itself. its nowhere as *cheery* as the X games. not even close, its very melancholical (but not emo like FF8) and the backstories of the characters are really fleshed out.
*..aerith and the gold saucer...*

I liked the parallel story in FF8. You fags don't know what you're talking about.
Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
Squall is the biggest emo around. his faggotry is slightly under that of Tidus'
oh and everyone in FF8 is like 12 years old. they act like their in puberty as well.
and i personally didnt like the 'realistic' look they used.
and you cant fight me on this: the junction system was flawed. it didnt quite matter who you chose as your partymembers, you could just copy the junctions over and youd always have the same 3 chars

Never played through it, wasn't as overly impressed as the rest of the planet. I really liked IX... Someone jacked my copy of 7 and that price hike is the reason i've never bought it again

I found the original ico box, with the original postcards for £5 a few months back.
Also found a mint Q1 original box with original jewel and manual. \o/
Was well chuffed with that. Mint-condition original boxes for classics like this can be hard to find.

Re: Final Fantasy VII (PS1)
It sells for $50 because it's overrated. Plain and simple. It was fun, but a bit forgetful in the long run.

FF7 was the game that made me realize I wanted to make games for a living. Without it, I probably wouldn't be designing levels and working as a programmer for the local game company where I live.

Use this emulator if you want to play it on your computer, it will render the game closest to the PS1.

Fucking  !!!Memphis wrote:Absolute classic is 7, agreed worth 50 smackers still today tbh. 8 was possibly the biggest disappointment since Tomb Raider 2. Hated that so much from 7 was changed for the worse, the magic 'stealing' was complete toss. I'd get hours past a save point and simply run out of spells and with random fights every 20 seconds it was a complete chore to play compared to 7. Chrono Trigger still makes me moist
i tried to play 8, dropped it, had some fun with 9... ended up dropping it.. TRIED to like the X series, couldnt... dropped it..
yet i can allways go back to FF7, and enjoy every minute of it.
btw, i watched the movie again today ( on the road ) and God damn, its good

infact i think that i am going to load up 7 again and play it here in my hotel room..

It gives you a link for the .dll, if you have Linux you don't even have to worry about this.
