Done it. Yeah it was retarded, but you get pissed beyond rational thought when some dick is going to cost you your job.

Yeah, I noticed that when I visited LA/Vegas. I was walking around the pump trying to find out why it wouldn't work until I read the instructions. That just seems so backwards but I can understand why they do it if a bunch of cunts have driven off without paying. I don't that happens here.

last time I drove through Oregon it was all full service - you couldn't pump your own gas. Anyone know if its still that way?

indeed, anyware that i've drivin to/through/in, i would pick up the pump, put in the gas, then go inside and pay.

then again, that was all in canada.

Vile: i know my car as well, infact, the dash tells me how meny L's that i am down so i know how much to fill up.

Yes. It is. I think it's that way, though, because you don't want stoned people near the gas release system. :D

Also, I've not seen a place (yet) that disabled the pay-at-the-pump thing. I don't ever have to try to understand farsi to get gas. :olo:

in NJ you can't pump your own gas, they insert card pump and give you a receipt.

I've never been to place that wasn't pump now, pay later... (live in Canada, not BC) Probably a new thing because of prices, and I suspect it will become more and more common in the future.

which is what happens in the UK. anyone who drives off without paying simply has their plates snagged on the forecourt CCTV

Prepay has recently become prevalent in my hometown. Pisses me off. I get it, though, too easy to drive off with your gas.

However, I've also stopped walking into the gas station and buying cigs/soda/junkfood... If I have to pay for the gas seperately and upfront, I'm not making another purchase after, so I'm not sure who's actually coming out ahead.

We have it nice and easy here in dutcholand, at least where I am. You can just use your card in advance and it will automatically withdraw from your account what you filled up for and hand you the receipt for the socially inept or nightly fillers, or you just fill up and pay inside later which is what most people do.

yes, and it can be annoying as fuck sometimes when you have to wait 10 minutes for a fucktard attendant to pump the gas. it's actually illegal to pump our own gas here :dork:

I can't get over that, you guys and NJ.

Do the jockeys go to a special college to learn how to work the pump?

Just spent 53.94 filling up the WRX. My wife doesn't want me to have a motorcycle as a means of transportation for the stop and go to work and back driving I do that eats up most of the gas. I've had 4 bad concussions in my life and she's afraid any further head injuries will leave me eating from a straw while pointing and laughing at shiny objects for the rest of my life. I've tried to explain to her the virtues of helmets but she won't budge and I decided not to press it if its going to worry her that much. Maybe these gas prices will convince her the cost vs. risk benefit makes it worth it.

a buddy can pull up with a Focus ( fuckis ), or somthing that tards can easly identify what it is.. they will be more carefull with it then when i pull up with my Corrado, they think "ohh, this is some Jetta or somthing.. wait, its a hatch.. it has to be a golf." etc.
