Slight tapers > *
bootcuts are horrendous, and a true straight leg ends up looking like a bootcut due to the distortion at the knee where it will pinch creating an X shape. Slight tapers keep the proportions flattering.

Re: Self-portrait thread
hehe i used to taper my own once upon a time!
american made 501's , used to taper the outside leg from just above the knee down.
turned them into a similar cut to a popular jean from the early nintys, edwin.
ended up doing a bunce for some hot chicks!

Ladies, ladies, please. These jeans don't make you look fat. Can we move on now?

you just need to work on selecting the correct length now.feedback wrote:Slight tapers > *

They are 36" inch inseams designed for stacking. I just got them yesterday so the denim is too stiff to drape correctly, thus the weird effect in the legs. They fit correctly after a few days of walking around.Doombrain wrote:you just need to work on selecting the correct length now.feedback wrote:Slight tapers > *

I think Edwin has always been a Japanese company since 1947, or at least moved there and pulled much of their distribution in the US. They mostly make repros now, as in repro of vintage Lee/Wrangler/Levi's cuts, though they have their own cuts. They still sell really good denim in Japan, but it's almost impossible to find in North America.plained wrote:hehe i used to taper my own once upon a time!
