Given his giant ego, I don't see how ferrari would think that putting him and kimi on a team together would end well. I think he proved last year that he really doesn't handle inter-team competition very well. Boy needs to learn how to play nice with the other kids.

GG to masa and BMW; being the only highlights to a traditionally boring race.

as everyone agrees, it'd be a bad thing to happen. i could never see both of them working as a team.

wow, did Alonso drive the shit out of that Renault. the atmosphere certainly helped him drive like he did today to qualify 2nd. Kimi with the last second pole steal was exciting. hell, the end of Q2 and Q3 was some of the most exciting i've seen in awhile.

should be a VERY interesting first turn tomorrow.

Fuck my DVR, fuck it right in the ass. Goddamn Time Warner pushed a s/w update to it that completely fucked up all my scheduled recordings. No Friday practice and no Quali. Assholes.

Thank you sir. In the overall championship, is lewis doing as well as he was at this stage last year? He better fucking win the whole thing or I'm gonna smash his car up.

No, he's not doing anywhere near as well. He qualified 5th for tomorrow's race and Heikki's been making him look, well, not so good. Lewis looked great for the first race and I think the Mclaren still has good pace, but it's been off and on. I think Lewis is being tested a good bit more this season, and I'm not impressed with his ability to deal with traffic.

indeed. he's floundering, dare i say it. maybe because his confidence has been jolted since things are definitely not going his/mclaren's way this season as of yet. i've no doubt he'll be a world champion one day, but it just may not be his year.

the extremely poor start and subsequent ramming into the back of alonso's renault shows that, although he's a phenom, he's also human.

5. Mark Webber Australia Red Bull-Renault 66 35.938
6. Jenson Button Britain Honda 66 53.010
7. Kazuki Nakajima Japan Williams-Toyota 66 58.244
8. Jarno Trulli Italy Toyota 66 59.435
9. Nick Heidfeld Germany BMW Sauber 66 1m03.073

11. Timo Glock Germany Toyota 65 1 Lap
12. David Coulthard Britain Red Bull-Renault 65 1 Lap
13. Takuma Sato Japan Super Aguri-Honda 65 1 Lap
Not the most exciting race on one of the least exciting circuits, but of course i'm happy with the outcome. i was actually disappointed that alonso's renault popped after a pretty sensational qualifying session. nice to see Webber getting some points and his 3rd points paying drive this year? must be a record.

Man, he fucking STUFFED that car into the tire wall. Fucking marshals couldn't pull the car out. Glad he's OK, but that's the second rim failure the McLarens have had. The last one caused Lewis to belt the wall last season.

Damn. What a fucking legend he would have been, even more so than he already is.

Raise a glass for Roland Ratzenberger as well, killed 14 years ago yesterday, same track, same corner.

yeah, meant to post one for Roland also, but my mind started wandering when i was looking for that pic.

some say Barichello would have been "the next Senna" but was never the same after his crash during qualifying at the 94 San Marino grand prix which was followed two days later by Ayrton's death. Rubens says that has been the biggest loss during his lifetime.
