I dont recall a year not having at least one or two majors problems resulting in hours to fix them each year. Just as today. I am now on my other PC because my main PC is fucked up.

I am now using XP and a ligit one at that.

My Mac and Linux computers both have never had an issue. I've only reinstalled for OS upgrading reasons (and even that was beyond necessary since they can both upgrade by just installing over the old one, but there's that Windows part of me that has me in the habit of making a fresh install just to "feel" better about it).

My main Windows computer has survived for about 2 years before needing a reinstallation.

Watching and recording TV, playing AVI's/DVD's, Downloading, Being a NAS Box, at times playing Games ( Battlefield 2, Trackmania, Emulators ), Chatting on MSN...

Ohh, yea, and it dosnt idle, due to it Folding@home 24/7...

2004 AMD Athlon XP 2600+, running Linux (Debian testing). Not always on but often up for three months or more. The only trouble it has given me so far is the fan on the video card giving up the ghost (twice).
