Demon Stone

Post by U4EA »

Any of you played Demon Stone? It's like a hack'n'slash type affair with some RPG elements thrown in. You've got the usual cliché characters to play with ("A lone fighter, a brash sorcerer, a hot-tempered rogue") and the story is pretty crap (two leaders of demon hordes from another dimension warring to take over Earth).

I've only played the first level so far, and it was so damn fun. It was a massive battlefield kind of area with the two hordes fighting it out. There's prisoners and whatnot so then you're supposed to save them. In this level, you're also introduced to the other 2 characters (you start out playing as the fighter). However, the point I'm trying to get across is the whole battlefield setting. It's so damn BUSY, there's fighting everywhere, you can see legions and legions of enemies trooping in the background, you're getting bombarded with flaming catapult shots and waves of burning arrows, there's dragons flying overhead etc etc.

Dunno, it just felt so damn EPIC.

Also, I haven't dabbled with it yet cause in the first level you play as all 3 characters alone, but apparently you can pull team combos and suchlike, which sounds pretty cool.

BUT .. I've heard that it's a fairly short game (like ~6 hours) and that it gets old pretty fast. Let's see how it goes ..

Check out the official site here. And some screenshots:

i heard it was more than average, lacked co-op and its rpg elements were so linear that an roleplayer would have more fun with the doom3 roleplaying element :p

It's so linear you can't even look in the direction you want to!

Seriously.
