in retrospect after watching that through the light of modern day context. I think it's amazing how safe F1 is now.
10 years ago Heikki's accident would probably have killed him and Kubica's shunt last year could have easily gone the wrong way.

Indeed. I'm surprised that the latest FIA attempt to make things more exciting (banning TC) hasn't resulted in more crashes. Of course, I get no shortage of spectacular shunts watching the GP2 races. FFS, you want to talk about a circus?
The Barcelona race had about four crashes and a safety car on the FIRST LAP.

Re: so... the circus is back in town *2008 F1 Thread*
yw.
the glee the news brought me needed to be shared.
I don't think anyone has made a licensed F1 sim for pc or console since 2001. it's been far far too long.

who carries that though, ITV? i love their presentation and commentary. wish we got that over here.
Re: so... the circus is back in town *2008 F1 Thread*
was a hell of a good race.
gg masa with the 3-peat.
I have to give a nod to Lewis too, for about 20 laps there I thought he had a shot at pulling some schumacher heroics with the 3-stop; but that pit lane is just too brutally long and the ferraris too fast.
This is probably the first time i've actually liked watching a race at turkey. I credit the lack of TC. Makes that track so much more difficult and causes mistakes, which cause exciting overtaking.
and yeah,

Seeing this really makes me wonder why I see so much hate for Massa. The dorks over at the Formulapod forums say things like "Massa doesn't deserve to drive in F1" and "Damn Kimi's cock tastes like Finlandia", etc. They're just so eager to jump all over Massa for the smallest mistake, but Kimi and Lewis can do no wrong.
Sure, that was a hell of a pass that Lewis put on Felipe (with a lot less fuel on board), but Hamilton couldn't catch or overtake Massa on the opening stint. In all honesty, I think Lewis is probably a better driver, but Felipe's no slouch.
Great job done by Kovaleinen, he's really impressing me this season. I'd say it would have been a podium for certain for him today if not for that puncture. Excellent fight from wayyyy back in the pack, the duel between him and Rosberg was nice to watch, as was the scrap between Button and Piquet.
Great race overall, this was really what I was hoping for this season. BMW's definitely in the mix and Alonsblow is really showing some Schumi-esque ability to driver car development.
The Stinkeye of the Race Award definitely goes to Geemandoiblow Scuzzyfella. What the fuck kind of rookie shit was that? Slamming in to the back of Banjo Kazooie like that?
And Kimi? Very fast (though not fast enough to catch Lewis on tires that were clearly NOT a good match for the McLaren's setup, lol) and VERY FUCKING BORING.

You're not impressed unless he does a backflip on the final stretch or some shit
PS. How come none of the videos on ITV-F1.com work for me? All I get is a white screen

LOL, stupid idiot. he was clearly past his braking point. if you saw how FAST he hit Nakajima, you'd realize he had a monster brain fart.“It is always a shame to see one of our cars out before the first lap,” mulled the Indian entrepreneur, “but as I have said before, you have to take risks: this is motor racing.”

Nope, had no idea. It looked like there was no contact between he and Heikki. Oh well, that does change things a bit, but the dude's still one of the most boring drivers I've ever seen.

I loved the in car view through this corner. I can't wait to run it in the F1 game...
