While he made some very good points, taking friends out to activities won't take all that long if you just hail a taxi or use Roman's car service.

He uses hyperbole to illustrate his points. It's called "comedy" and he's absolutely right about it. The addition of the friends thing is fucking terrible and should never been put in the game.

I agree. I cant stand it. I'll be doing a mission, and then get 17 text messages because I never took my friends out. Fuck off. I took you out 10 mins ago, and now you want me to go out again? Fuck you...

Christ the only reason I keep taking Kate out when she asks is because of this strange urge to see what shes like in bed, knowing full well ill never see anything and shes a fucking computer character... Bet she shags like a mynx...

I dont play it online.. I got fed up with being killed and having to wait 10 seconds to respawn, only to be nowhere near the action... Meh...

FWIW I agree that the friends thing is not the best gameplay mechanic. The only good that comes from it are the shows you can see at the comedy club/cabaret, but those aren't top-notch like the DJs and TV shows.

I figured they'd have dropped the dating-type things from this iteration of the game since they weren't well-received in San Andreas.

Respawn distance might have been set to "far" and the timer can be set to fewer than 10 seconds. If you're in the lobby, tell the host to change it next time.

Dating....however wank it is...increases the longevity of the game...gives you something to do whilst you're waiting hours for a fucking phone call.

By "dating-type things" I meant SIM life stuff.

Pay-N-Spray progresses the in-game clock by 3 hours, and saving (or resting and cancelling from the save screen) progresses it 6 hours.

...talking of which...am I the only one who always seems to get a 10 yr old kid as the host everytime..
for example, I got home from work, booted it up, went on race...and there is a kid whose asking the other players to kick whoever is not driving a mr. Tasty.....fucking fags were doing it too.

Yeah know that, but if you're miles away from a safe house it's a bastard. plus half the time when I whistle for a cab it has a passenger in it, so I have to chase it about 2 miles down the street.

Dumbass 10 year old kids shouldn't even be playing the game. I blame the parents.

Get in a car, cut off the nearest taxi, and hold Y (or Δ if on a PS3). Even if there's a passenger, you'll kick him out just like stealing a car, but the cops don't seem to care. ;)
