First, that is a hippy.
Liberal and hippy are not synonyms. Stop perpetuating stupidity and you won't look like someone who thinks fox news is journalism.

And as for your search for people in the middle.
The democratic party is actually the centrist party. We have no left wing in our government.
That's actually the problem with politics here, we have right and center, and everyone on the right thinks the center is the left.
The left wing is called the socialist party, and we only have one representative in congress who's a socialist.

wtf... everyone has a family member who served in a war, christ... we have one every 20 years or so.
My brother is in Afghanistan right now, my father as a Vietnam ribbon (was in the navy though... so he wasn't exactly in danger).

Safety and freedom are NOT compatible. If you like living in a free society you have to accept the risk that comes along for the ride.
And how exactly does starting wars in other countries make us safer?
That is what makes someone a warmonger, rushing to war irrationally.

Hollowtips wrote: As far as wars go, Ive never said you should be thankful for them. I said im thankful for the soldiers who make/made those sacrifices in service to their country. Its a distinction you are apparently unable to make.
Speaking of distinctions that I'm unable to make, you made the distiction of YOUR family being in the service and it upsetting you if people questioned it. So...I ask again...what wars did your family serve in? Lemme guess...it was bullshit to get some form of sympathy? To shut us up? Fuck dude, your shit is weak, tired and so overused it's laughable.

I've already brought up this point on this board before but please - in explicit terms - spell out why Americans are convinced they hate the french (besides Bill O telling them to). What are the exact reasons? This outta be good.

Protect yourself from whom? The people your country fucked over? Therefore forcing you to "protect yourself"? Here's a novel idea: quit supporting the fucking of people over and maybe you wouldn't have to protect yourself. I think this directly relates to those "beneficiaries" of American foreign policy you so warmly spoke about.

War mong :olo:

Now McCain rejected the endorsement of Rod Parsely, the other religious zealot who claimed that the US was founded in part with the goal of bringing about the end of Islam.

The media still wants to suck McCain's dick.

clicky
In early March, McCain hosted a “thank you” barbeque for reporters, which thoroughly impressed the attendees. As one reporter put it, “McCain comes across as a what-you-see-is-what-you-get guy, not terribly given to brooding or introspective meditation.”
Hmmmm...a "what-you-see-is-what-you-get guy, not terribly given to brooding or introspective meditation." Sounds just like Bush and it seems (again) that the media is framing the discussion based on personality instead of substance.

Could this become an election issue?
John McCain’s on Ambien. So much for being ready for that 3 a.m. call.

Ambien is the sleep aid that was at the center of a class action lawsuit after users noticed bizarre side effects, like getting up in the middle of the night and cooking huge meals, then leaving the burners at full blast and going back to bed. I remember reading one man’s account. He said he heard sounds from the kitchen and found his wife tearing open a package of hamburger buns, “like a grizzly bear.”

But there are less humorous risks as well.
