Yes worth a look, but no sound on my viewing.

Good luck Phoenix Mars Lander

All, please keep your fingers and other extremities crossed for tomorrows landing (my time zone) ...
It probably would have crashed if you didn't post its name so big. ggz.

I feel so, well satisfied :sly:

Good to see a soft and successful landing occasionally. Understand, near 50% of Mars landings do fail :smirk:

But with the nearly five decades of Mars exploration fraught with failures -- about half of the three dozen tries have crashed, disappeared or missed the planet altogether -- there is little room for error.

So... we can fit video cameras into pin holes, and we can have 5mega pixel resolution on an every day bog standard phone camera, not to mention 12mp+ on every day cameras...

And yet they STILL pop up shots online that could of been taken on my old web cam...

Well DB, i dunno... The planets RED... So I would suggest thats quite a lot :|

The point i'm trying to make is that just becaues grass is green, it doesn't mean you can take a B&W picture of it and get all the detail. How would you tell whats dead or not?

With Mars, I see loads fo red pics with random blue shite on. Is that correct? I doubt it.

That Snickers wrapper in that one came out very colorful.

scared? wrote:wheres the ice?...
Under the soil. They believe where the lander is, the ice is just a few inches or maybe a foot beneath the surface. That's why this lander is designed to dig. It has an 8 foot arm that it will use to reach the ice and take samples.
