i got it for the ps3 and i'm loving it. I havn't ran into any slowdown during races but sometimes the after race sponser payout screen jerks a bit.

the biggest flaw this game has is the assists vs no assists. a highly skilled player who isn't using assists can easily be beaten by an average player with the assists turned on. this makes the online races completely fubar as there always seems to be a good mix of players playing with or without assists. not surprising is it's the players without assists that always end up pissing and moaning; they're trying to treat it like a hardcore sim racer when this game simply isn't that.

personally i love this game. i've been waiting for a game like this for a long long time and codemasters pretty much nailed it. i don't understand people saying the controls are sluggish; i find them to be tight and responsive and correctly applicable to each of the different cars.

I am really getting tired of getting wrecked by the AI drivers. I'm driving a lamborghini right now and unless I go out of my way to move out of the AI's way, they'll come in and spin me, go left or right straight into me, push me into walls during corners, they won't hold their position and pass when there is an opening, they just seem to go where they want when the want regardless of whether or not you are there.

In the replay it looks like it blacks out whenever there's a collision that's the full retail version? I figured that was just something that was in the demo cause it was a demo if that's in the full version that's rather lame.

I'm still going to get it cause the gameplay is ace but cmon... they better patch that

Well the 24 hours of Lemans race just about made me put my controller through the screen after getting fucked and crashed about 20 hours (minutes) into it. I wish that the small map was an overhead view that showed you the whole track at all times instead of the one they give you that only shows what is coming up.

Drifting was interesting, on my 3rd run I pulled off some combo that had me at over 100,000 points after 2 turns...no idea what i did.

But yea, Fuck LeMans.

Can you pit in the full game? I heard you couldn't I find that lame.

tnf, what difficulty level are you playing at? i never have problems with the AI wrecking me. if anything i'm usually the one that wrecks them. if you're having problems with them fucking you up on the turns then don't let them get besides you while entering the turn. for some reason the AI won't even blink an eye if they're besides you but if you see them comming up from behind and cut in front of their line they'll actually slam the brakes and fall back several seconds.

odium, give me one reason why the ps3 version would be any less enjoyable than the 360 version. how is the 360 version "superior?"

yeah there's no pits. there isn't really any sense in including pits seeing as the races only last a few laps. even with the fastest lemans cars you'll only end up doing about 4 laps on the 24hr races.

That's too bad, so many times in the demo I would have loved to be able to pit.

My biggest drift combo is about 950,000. I find the drifting very fun and challenging, unlike Pro Street where it was just a pain in the ass.

The Le Mans race is annoying to say the least, but it gets better when you get the GT1 class cars.

Although, you can customize your own Le Mans race to last an actual 24 hours if you're insane enough.

No pits, awesome game nonetheless.

Seems from the posts here a PS2 or Xbox pad is not the way to go. Would a proper PC pad give you analogue acceleration?
If you have a 360, you can just pick up the PC adapter.

i loaded grid on my media-cent ( playing on a 52" at 1080P :) ) and plugged in my buddys Xbox360 controller with the Charge and play cable, it detected and installed the drivers, but didnt show up as a gamepad. :/

so you would get the wireless adapter so the damned thing works.

Yeah, I think I've tried using the charge/play cable and failed as well.

Maybe non-analogue acceleration is the way to go with this game.
Just tapping the brakes and gas in corners works for me.

When you buy cars is there any real difference in the ones on eBay that have a lot of wins vs. those that don't? Example - I just bought a Skyline on eBay that had 27 wins, totaled once. The other cars had 4 wins, totaled 3 or 4 times. Since there are no tuning options in this game that I've seen, what are the real differences between two different versions of the exact same car going to be?

Well your team assistant warns of cars that have been totaled too much and instead advises buying cars that have low mileage and lots of event wins.
I'm not sure if it really makes a difference as I usually buy new.

My laptimes are so much better when I don't tap the buttons. I was getting 1.14's on that demo track with the BMW's.
