Definately not the best Jones out there. The whole story with the kid irritated me.
The scene with the monkeys completely ruined the rest of the movie for me. For those who saw, how retarded was that whole scene with the monkeys and vines?

I felt there was something missing from this Indiana Jones and it just didn't feel the same to me. The movie would have gotten an extra point and scooted up to a marginal grade of "C" had they excluded the kid and his mom from the entire script.

Final Verdict: D
Agree 100% Silicone_Milk

It could have done without the monkeys and are they prairie dogs?

Nice addition to the series and shot (filmed) in something different -near sepia - Nice aged effect

I personally give it a 7/10 - Worth a look but don't run for it..

The Last Seduction: Great.

Been a few years since I last saw this, and it's still a damn good film.
Linda Fiorentino is absolutely fantastic as cold-blooded femme fatale Brigitte / Wendy. Sexy, devious and utterly ruthless, this film made her one of my favourite actresses.
Such a shame that nobody else has been able to coax a similar performance from her since.

The Forbidden Kingdom - 6/10

Not enough awesome Jackie Chan/Jet Li fight sequences and way too many Shitting Tiger, Fucking Dragon special effects.

Rambo - 8/10

Hilariously gruesome hour of Stallone blowing bad guys to pieces :olo:

The 40 Year Old Virgin - 9/10

Almost died from laughter; Steve Carell is fucking awesome :olo:

Harold and Kumar 2 - 7/10

Quite a few funny scenes  "Cockmeat sandwich" :olo:

I Am Legend - 8/10

Pretty decent film, although a bit slow. Will Smith did well.

rambo: no; go home.

rambo: ok i'll go get them.

*rambo explodes a nuke with a claymore while outrunning blast* (hardcore)
*everyone dies except the cool sniper dude, the annoying religious prick and the chick who wants rambo's rambo*

ass hat bible thumper you want dead from the start: hey thanks rambo, i guess violence does solve problems.

*rambo walks for 10 minutes down a farm road to say "HI DAD!"*

Kung Fu Panda : 9/10

Clearly the stuff of Dreamworks and definately meant for kids yet not lacking in sheer enjoyment value.

I don't think I've laughed this hard at a kids movie from the physical comedy. There was a lot of dialogue as well that would appear to be way over the heads of the kids that were watching.

Failed to get a 10 out of 10 because I felt the film was a bit unbalanced in terms of fighting, talk, and character development. The film focuses on the Panda (as expected) but the other kung fu characters are almost completely ignored.

Excellent movie. Go out and watch this while it's in theatres!!

lack of a vehicle, and a blockbuster gift card, and a special on previewed dvds = win.

picked up about 50 bucks worth of dvds tonight, just finished the 2nd.

Right at your Door - 9ish/10. Ending could not have been better imo. Actors did a great job of getting you into the story, and the minimal use of special effects was a good move for this one, I could see some overdoing it big time in this area for this type of movie.

edit: I seem to like movies that are based around one specific area more than others, so I may have given a few extra points to this one. Speaking of that, I re-watched the original Cube for the first time in a few months, and if I had to pick the closest movie to ever reach a ten that didn't make it, that would be it. If only that production had more money to spend on decent actors that would be a straight up 10 in my book. The next two kind of died down in terms of "would watch again", but still a pretty good set of movies.

Cleaner.

Pretty straightforward, standard fare.
Could have been a stretched episode from some generic cop tv show.
Although they found maybe the last niche: the cleaner of a crime scene. At least, I can't think of another *movie* where that's been used. Probably got the idea from Dexter.
Samuel Jackson does his burdened, brooding thing well, of course, albeit totally on autopilot.

Appleseed Ex Machina - 9/10

I was never too crazy for the genre but I really enjoyed this one.
Great action scenes with a good story. The story although not profound it felt original in a sense that any correlation to other similar storylines must've happened by coincidence
Great attention to accuracy and detail both story wise and graphically.

Speaking of which, it's done in 3D but with some impressive shading which served to make character animation less distracting and gave it a more genuine 'anime' look.

I can definately see its backstory carry some more installments

Why should you care so much what someone thinks about a fictional film? If everyone on an internet forum were to shit on a film that you might have wanted to see, would it affect your decision? Seriously, who watches Indiana Jones expecting some sort of cinematic masterpiece a la V For Vendetta or Lawrence of Arabia?
It was entertaining and that's all I care about, because I'm not some sort of wannabe-elitist who goes to the movies to scoff and drop his monocle into a champagne glass.

Maybe someone just needs to explain the concept of "different folks, different strokes" to you.

what I meant by that is, I have figured out that our taste in movies are simply too far appart for me to be able to consider your input in a measurable way.

Well you can't expect everyone to have similar likes and dislikes :)

I'll personally never watch a Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, or Ben Stiller movie no matter how much misguided fools try to convince me :disgust:

Thanks!
I really enjoyed Appleseed, but because I'm not a hardcore anime fan, I wasn't aware this was out.
Going to see if I can pick it up somewhere.
