Well, I won't be going to work all of next week unless I get called into do some server work and get get across the last remaining bridge... Film at 11.
Re: Dave, Iowans?
Hope you didn't suffer any damages. We only got some minor flooding here in NE. Not enough for me to go looting on a Jet Ski or anything.

Well that's pretty good then, all things considered. =\Dave wrote:Well, I won't be going to work all of next week unless I get called into do some server work and get get across the last remaining bridge... Film at 11.

No flooding in northeast Iowa, besides a few fields here and there. the Wapsipinicon River is higher than usual, but nothing like the Cedar or Des Moines. I have a classmate who is from Cedar Rapids, haven't heard anything bad from her yet...

Re: Dave, Iowans?
whoa, i heard today they told people in the 500 year flood range to evac :O
Re: Dave, Iowans?
Well, I didn't spend a lot of time taking pictures, but here's a few.. If you've seen one flood, you've seen 'em all.

Re: Dave, Iowans?
We had a tornado roll through town 3 or 4 years ago.. This flood is going to be many times more destructive in dollars in comparison.
Re: Dave, Iowans?
You're assuming a tornado isn't going to follow... end of the world bitch.

Re: Dave, Iowans?
that sucks. heard the red cross ran outta cash, too.
Re: Dave, Iowans?
Dunno about that, but it probably wouldn't have been as bad if the water wasn't so polluted. That's not to imply that clean water would have made things much better--a considerable portion of the 200 square mile region I live in is fucked and some part of the UI might not be able to resume classes in the fall...
Re: Dave, Iowans?
We got hit by a flood here not long ago too actualy... you wouldn't even know it happened today around these parts anyway, apparently they're used to it.
Re: Dave, Iowans?
ARticle my girlfriend wrote today, or maybe yesterday.. dunno... anyway... might be useful lol.
