TinyMenu extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1455
Stylish extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108
Vista on XP theme: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6839 (assuming you're on an OS that's not Vista)
All-in-one Sidebar: http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/ ... 7.6-fx.xpi

Restart firefox

Right-click on the toolbar area, select Customize. Move all the navigation icons to the top area. Right click anywhere in Toolbar area > Customize > Check 'Use small icons'. Disable the navigation toolbar and if you desire, the bookmarks toolbar as well.

Hide Search and Go Buttons: http://userstyles.org/styles/3292

Nice one, thanks.

Did you have to apply a theme to XP to change the actual title bar of the browser? Everything else looks good, but I've still got the blue titlebar of the FF window. My desktop is in Windows Classic mode, so that's probably what's stopping it. I don't really want to change my XP theme - just FF, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

I'm on ubuntu, but I don't think that's possible either (to set a specific titlebar theme for a specific application). :(

The window border stays the same.

And thanks, BTW.

Gotcha. I didn't think so, but wanted to check, since you said you weren't on Vista. ;)

Does anyone know of an add-on that lets you change the color of the about:blank page?

Ugh... that only works for the initial page, but not for new tabs.

This works, however.
put about:config in your address bar
accept the warning
find browser.display.background_color
change its value to a valid hexadecimal color

setting this via about:config is the same as setting it via the menu in options. it's not a super-1337 ninja back door. try tools -> options -> contents -> colours and see if it's set correctly there

i don't know why it's not working for you since I have by default bgcolor as #666666 and new tabs open in that colour

tiny menu - increases page viewing space
zotero - nifty little tool for making snapshots of pages and grouping/tagging them for reference
fireshot - screenshots the entire page, including the areas not visible on your screen

Also make sure 'use system colors' is not checked.

StumbleUpon - click a button for a random site/page (after you set your personal preferences). This is quite fun when you're interbored.

Piclens - Great plugin when you're viewing photo's/pics from Flickr/Facebook, etc.
