Another reason the 10-point-must system is retarded

How about a link to whatever it is you're bitching about?

Alot of us don't follow sweaty gay man shit so some context would help a bunch.

How was that fight bullshit feedback? Forrest controlled the cage for almost the entire fight, did more damage, brutalized Rampage's left leg, almost caught him in a triangle, and attacked more consistently. Plus, Rampage had NOTHING for Forrest on the ground, not when he was in Forrest's guard, and certainly not when Forrest got mount and dominated him in the second round. Sure, Rampage caught him with about 5 or 6 good shots, but that's it.
Don't get me wrong, I actually like Rampage a lot now, after seeing him on TUF, but methinks your bias towards him is coloring your judgement more than just a bit.
I like them both, but Griffin clearly won that fight.

I have to agree. It was a close fight but the 2 guys I watched it with and I all agreed that Forrest won.

What gets me is mostly that two judges called it 48-46, and one judge had it 49-46. Forrest had Round 2 10-8, sure, but Round 1 was Rampage, 3 could be for Forrest, and 4 and 5 I'd give to Rampage. It was a close fight for sure, FightMetric scored as a win for Jackson/ tie in the 10 point must system, it was a total shoe in for split decision

I couldn't agree more with the other guys - that fight belonged to Griffin. He controlled much more of the match, he had more offensive time than Jackson did, and with the triangle and his nearly total domination on the ground, Jackson's great punches just weren't enough to win the fight.
That's all Jackson had - some great punches. He didn't seem like he had much of a strategy aside from that, but Griffin was constantly taking advantage of his weaknesses.

I only know the basics of the scoring system, but I've never really thought it made sense. If one guy violently dominates a single round, and the rest of the rounds are close, it's hard for the score to reflect that very much. It's a 2 point difference at most. The score won't reflect varying degrees of domination, which I think should be a pretty important part of the consideration. That just doesn't seem right.

So I probably agree with you that the scoring system has problems - even though I don't really understand how you're saying it hurt Jackson so badly in this one. In my opinion, Griffin's ownership of round 2 was much more total than any round Jackson had.

Jackson's legs were pretty shaky through the whole fight. That probably affected his punching power and ability to take Griffin down in a big way. I'm looking forward to their next fight.

I have a feeling his ankle was messed up pre-fight or something, he didn't move laterally much and hardly moved compared to his fight with Henderson. We'll see.

It was closer than the judges scores implied, but Forrest definitely won. Even Rampage has no problem admitting it. I won just over $1000 on this fight. OWNED.

10-point-must has no place in MMA.

Yes I know, but I've seen his pic and there's no way in hell I can take a person's opinion on MMA seriously when they look like that.

:olo:

basically what R00k said.
I'd have scored it closer especially rounds 4/5 but Forrest had it.
The dream is dead.
