Norton BO Back

I have a computer in front of me that people have not used in months because they were away. Worked fine when they left and shut it down.

When computer is turned on now, it says computer is protected by Norton Go Back...press space bar to repair problems or see other boot options. Pressing space or not doesnt matter; it next says Missing operating system...insert boot disk in drive A [there is no drive A] press space bar when ready.

Is there a way I can get around this without a reinstall// that anyone knows about.

There was a security guard in their house while they were away. I assume he put it on or some such thing as it didnt install itself and the owners didnt do it that they know about.
