The Dark Knight - 9/10 fuckin hell that was an enjoyable comic-book few hours of awesome bullshit. I really recoil against coming down on the side of OMG HE DIED SO HIS PERFORMANCE WAS THE MOEST AWESOME RIP LOLS but the Joker character/performance absolutely stole the whole movie. It's a real shame he'll never reprise the role.

The character is much stronger than The Batman. Actually, most of the villans in the Batman storyline are, the central character just isn't that entertaining.

Been trying to get tickets for the imax in london to watch the dark knight but no fucking chance, it's booked up for about two months. Even the normal screen is booked for a few weeks.

I think I'm gonna go see it a second time, see if I can find an IMAX anywhere nearby. I don't often do that. I think the last time was LOTR.

Be Kind Rewind with Jack Black. It had its funny moments and was even a bit sentimental.

Saw Batman at the London Imax on Friday.
Great film, and the Imax sections really stand out and take your breath away.
I'm with Foo regarding the Batman character though.
The world he occupies and the people around him are far more interesting.
And that constant growling is just ridiculous.

Heath Ledger's joker was thoroughly enjoyable; I think he came across best during those shaky-cam hostage moments, where you'd just get a flicker of a manic rictus.
That summed up the character's psychosis incredibly well.

Step Brothers - 2/10

Painfully dumb and another reminder of why I can't stand Will Ferrel as an actor.

The problem with Batman in all the films is the rediculous rubber suit he wears. It's quite obvious that movement is so restricted that even something simple like turning slightly to the left is impossible.

So therefore for me, he often looks like a growling waxwork and takes him out of the scene. He should just be really nimble like a ninja.

I do agree about the voice. Someone should say to Bale 'reel it in mate'. Also for me, this guy has a zillion gadgets, why did he not think to get a voicebox to change his voice rather than sound like a growly cuntflap.

Natural Born Killers 3/10

I'd never seen this one before, and i'm afraid i didn’t understand it at all. What on earth was the point of this movie? The recurring point appeared to be something along the lines of ‘media is evil and love is pure, drugs are great and serial killing is cool´ or something, it remains entirely unclear to me.

It was not serious enough to be taken seriously, not nearly funny enough to be considered comedy, it's critique of our society lame and nonsensical, it had no character development whatsoever and the drug / violence induced visions were merely annoying and added nothing. I can’t even get myself to consider it a deranged road trip movie, it just wasn’t any of these things. What it was above anything else was a poor film.

No way man, Fear & Loathing had a really powerful underlying message about the end of an era and about the essence of the hippie movement. The trippiness was awesome, the bits that were meant to make the viewer feel uncomfortable were spot on, the funnies were hilarious, the acting superb... comparing NBK to it is like... totally unfair. :(

The Dark Knight - 8/10

About 30 minutes too long, a few silly and unnecessary scenes, other than that excellent. The Joker was great, and the Two Face origin story worked very well. Truly epic, I can't wait for the next one.

apparently the voice isn't entirely Bale's fault... they modulated him in post-edit to make it deeper.

According to several sources Bale had a very hoarse voice after doing the costumed scenes. Bale has a decent range with his voice but he himself has said the batman voice was the most demanding. They may have modulated him a bit in post, but the raspy nature of his voice is Bale himself.

That one scene with the camcorder where Ledger/Joker told the fake batman to look at him. The second "Look at me!" was really deep, raspy and full of pure malevolence. A very good take.

'Monster' ( 2003) 9/10 . Just watched it on TV.
Charlize Theron plays a prostitute serial killer based on the true story of Aileen Wuornos. She won an academy award for this. Excellent movie. I'd never heard of her before. And in all other pictures and footage she looks completely different from that part.

1st: are you gay? how can you not have heard of charlize theron until 2008?

2nd: that oscar was one in a string of awards for "pretty girl gets made up ugly = acting!" (or horse-faced bitch dresses even uglier, e.g. Hillary Swank)
