Hi, first of all..My English is bad, so you might won't understand me.
Uhmm, since I got wireless internet and I play Quake 3 Arena with a ping about 40 - 100. A few minutes later I got connection interrupted for about 3 seconds, after then a few minutes later it happens again etc. etc.
Before I had wireless internet this never happent, so does anyone now what's the problem and what I can do about it?
try looking up reviews for your specific model number, there are some user opinions out there that show that there seems to be intermittent disconnect problems with some Belkin/SMC routers. i had this same problem with a Dlink DI-624 and returned it promptly since no firmware upgrades would fix it.
Could be your neighbour's microwave as well. If a firmware update doesn't fix it, I suggest you return it. They ain't good for online gameplay anyway on account of the lag they cause.

sorry, i'm wired to my wireless router and my brother is about 40 ft away wireless. not only do we ping the same within a few ms on game servers, but he's got no "lag" issues.
I'd say you're the exception. Admittedly, Netgear routers are pretty decent but still... we used to have one too until we ditched it because it kept lagging. As we're speaking, I'm playing a game of Q3A on a mate's server (with him hosting it) and we all have +18 pings. Two are on the same LAN with me being on the same head-end.
EDIT: might be a LAN-issue of course, but I'm currently in the mood to blame it on the router

like i said previously, i had a Dlink. it was terrible. i don't think i'm an exception, just depends on your router. Netgear and Linksys wireless have been very good for myself and friends/clients.

He's hardly an exception. There are many folks who don't experience any problems at all with wireless gaming so check your info a little more before possibly giving someone who doesn't know any better the impression that wireless isn't usable. It totally depends on the vendor and router model.
