The Georgians overplayed their hand and got slapped, and we caught a little of the follow-through, which is what happens when you waste your best troops—and Georgia’s, for that matter—on a dumb war in the wrong place. We detached Kosovo from a Russian ally; they detached South Ossetia from an American ally. It’s a pawn exchange, if that. If it signals anything bigger, it’s the fact that the US is weaker than it was ten years ago and Russia is much, much stronger than it was in Yeltsin’s time. But anybody with sense knew all that already.

True, but at this point it seems (unconfirmed by independent sources though) that Russia has invaded Georgian areas outside of Abkhazia and Southern Ossetia, Georgians report that they are setting up to defend Tbilisi. Knowing first-hand how the Russians do things, I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the month, Georgia has voted to join Mother Russia, much like Hitler was allowed to take Austria.
The US and Europe and scared shitless of what will happen if Russia decides to cut off supplies of gas and oil, so they might just write Georgia into the history books.
On the eve of War, the Legions have returned! From the depths of Time the Darkness comes again! Muhuhahaha!
BTW! The Legions will be returning for Quake Live when it hits in December to take down all those fools that think they can compete against us!
While you have been sitting around here drinking Yohoo we've been training in Combat Arms, Quake3arena, COD4 and Source. A new team of Legions is returning! Be prepared!

I drink a minimum 6pack of beer everyday for the past 6 years. I can drive etc, no problem. I need a few days though for the alcohol to get completely out of my system.
Not that Horka isn't a moron, but it does take several days for alcohol to get completely out of your system. The alcohol is metabolized into acetate, which remains in the body as a fuel source for up to 4 days. It tends to be used before carbohydrate sources, which is why drinking tends to make you fat.

Except it really was the Georgians planning genocide against the South Ossetians. Russia saved them by intervening. Most people are just too dumb to look beyond CNN and Faux News and look for any excuse to jump on the anti-Putin/Russia bandwagon.

I happen to agree with this whole heartedly.
Suddenly, I don't feel well.

I think anyone who knows that a member of John McCain's election team is a lobbyist with ties to Georgia will also know that - like Israel - the US has picked a favorite and the propaganda (CNN and Faux News) will follow that ideology.

They only follow because they're on a leash... the doggies obey their master
It's sad because the relationship was originally designed to be the opposite.
Oh hey look...on CNN.com...there's 4 articles crying for the Georgians (poo pooing the Russians) mixed in with several articles complaining about the Olympic non-events in China (the media has effectively turned this Olympic Games into a discussion about China and not about the athletes) and a full-page article on Topps-brand sticker series of product parodies.
