I've had Chuck Palahniuks " Survivor" in the shitter for about 2 years now... I bet I have most of it memorized now. I also bet it's caked in air born fecal matter.

Crossword puzzles. I try to finish before I finish. I figure I'm at a healthy 50/50. :toothy:

when i was younger, and perceived an imminent bowel event, I'd scurry around the house looking for interesting reading material. I'd inevitably pick several items - perhaps a comic book, a novel, and an empty shampoo bottle. The process of hunting down these items was integral to the experience, as the longer it took to hunt, the more desperate my situation became, yet this was matched by an increasing level of anticipation and reward.

I'd enter the loo, lock the door, sit down, find an interesting sentence to start with, and let loose. And about a paragraph later, I was done, feeling quite silly.

There were occasions when I'd have a legitimate marathon session which allowed a solid reading session accompanied by a flow of peristaltic contractions. I'd get through some serious pages then.

And there were times when I just lazily sat well after my bowels were purged, just reading.

Now I tend to have very efficient movements, and don't bother reading, though a shampoo bottle does help the mind relax...

I found a copy of the scarlet pimpernel in a basket near the crapper and grabbed it on my way in several months ago. I'm still working on that one.

but i only read when things require some lengthy effort...lately things have been a simple in and out procedure.
