The last movie you saw
Re: The last movie you saw
I'm really surprised you liked the second one more than the first. I found the second Hellboy to be a complete mess. The pacing was totally messed up.
I know the first one had it's problems but it seemed much more inline with the supernatural tone of the comic (whereas #2 seemed much more fantasy-based).

American Psycho - 8/10
Awesome movie. But I'm left wondering: it was actually all a dream? we found out that he imagined killing all those people and that he's actually just crazy?

The second one was an absurd comedy, the first one just another superheroe movie - and a so-so one at that. I never read comics, so i wouldn't know (or care) if they stuck to the story.Jackal wrote:I'm really surprised you liked the second one more than the first. If you bought the DVD by chance I highly highly highly recommend you watch the black and white version of the movie. I found it to be much more visually appealing.Pauly wrote:The Mist.

Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.
Re: The last movie you saw
The Mist is definitely one of my favorite movies.
A group of people dealing under extreme conditions is always interesting to watch, but I don't think I've seen it handled as well as this.
It all fits, has excellent and sometimes hilarious dialogue, and the ending is fucking devastating.
Saw Pathology last night.
Students working in a morgue go on killing frenzy.
Has that dweeb Peter from Heroes in it, probably meant as his vehicle for bigger and better things, but I don't think so.
There's some Alyssa Milano tit action, but seeing her turn up in shit like this is just sad.
3/10

I haven't bought it, but I will, and I will certainly watch it in black and white. I can't believe this film didn't have a bigger impact.Jackal wrote:If you bought the DVD by chance I highly highly highly recommend you watch the black and white version of the movie. It was an interesting take on the "humanity being destroyed by a virus" genre.

Tropic Thunder = 9/10 - Funny as fucking hell. As expected MD Jr gives a fantastic performance. Knowing that he stays in character between takes (sometimes even off set) I could guarantee that if I was working on this film I'd be laughing all day.
**SPOILERS***
I pissed my fucking pants when Ben Stiller killed the panda and wore it's head as a helmet. What a warrior.
I spit my drink out when I saw the little kid Ben Stiller was "rescuing" was in fact stabbing him in the back. I choked and nearly died when he threw the kid off.
Tom Cruise was so funny I completely forgot that he's a moron who believes in aliens getting nuked.

Re: The last movie you saw
just watched the mist in black and white - very well written and acted - ending reminiscent of gerry
Re: The last movie you saw
taken - surprisingly fresh, lots of action from about 20 min in and right towards the end.
Re: The last movie you saw
You and I definitely have exactly opposing tastes in movies. It's funny though because it's essentially as useful as if you liked the same sorts of movies I do. Except this way when you say you hate a movie I know I'll love it. Or vice-versa.Tormentius wrote:The Ruins - 2/10

Re: The last movie you saw
Tropic Thunder: 8/10
The script wasn't the greatest, but the story is a good one. Liked Nolte in this. Though Stiller tried to completely ruin another film, he was unsuccessful this time. Only two low points were two senseless dialogs.
"Ultimately, it comes down to Gamers and porn."
Oh Yeah - also, Hancock: 8/10
SPOILER?
Great idea falls short on depth. Actually liked Smith in this.
Fantastic ending. (I'm such a sap....)

Not the usual type of movie that I normally watch. But, I was convinced to watch this and I'm glad that I did.
