On certain sites it says I need to upgrade my flash player and when I click the link to upgrade the computer freezes.
If I go to the adobe site and click on download for flash player or shockwave the computer freezes. Everything, mouse, keyboard, etc.

Have you cleared Your Temp files ( in windows and IE/Fox )
Then tried a manual install?
also, have you considered installing Service pack 3 for windows ?

Re: flash player
Not cleared temp files. I have found that sp3 causes problems with computers several years old.
By manual install, do you mean download it with another comouter and then copy that file over and try installing.....no I havent tried that yet.

As Amidy said, SP3 works fine on older computers.
Re: flash player

Re: flash player
my grandmother actually had the same problem.
if you go to wherever the flash plugin is and delete it manually, then download the plugin again through the usual way, it should work.
corrupted file or summat and it keeps trying to update.. lame
