Mirror's Edge
Mirror's Edge
They released another video last month and I never saw anyone post it. Maybe they did. Anyways, here it is:

I can't tell if I'm going to like that camera jerking around all the time or not. I know it's to simulate head movement, but it may be too much to sit through. Maybe I'll get use to it.
Oh, and in the video, there towards the end, she starts breathing really hard. Kinda turned me on. It may be hard to play like that...

Re: Mirror's Edge
It 'looks good' but doesn't look fun.
Re: Mirror's Edge
I'm with Puff on this one. That doesn't look very entertaining. If I get bored by Tomb Raider type games, this will put me to sleep.
The head-bobbing didn't bother me, though.

Re: Mirror's Edge
Yeah that looks pretty damn boring
Re: Mirror's Edge
Dunno, depending on the controls, it could actually be quite spectacular to play IMO.
Re: Mirror's Edge
indeed
therell be a demo out somewhere this year still so yea.

Re: Mirror's Edge
I think it looks highly original, and I commend DICE for having the balls to NOT release Battlefield 17.
Re: Mirror's Edge
I too will await the demo. Looks interesting, but it could go either way.

Re: Mirror's Edge
I read the PC version won't be out until next year though
No way i'm playing a game like that on anything other than a keyboard/mouse.

Re: Mirror's Edge
Why not? I completed Portal with a 360 Pad, haven't even played the PC version.
Re: Mirror's Edge
Ever since playing TimeSplitters 2 on the GameCube, I must say my dislike of playing 1st person shooters on consoles has ebbed away slowly.
Keyboard and mouse is still vastly superior, but when a game has been designed with the controller in mind, it's not that bad.

Hopefully it has more to it than jumping, it looked like she was about to use the sniper.
The internet comes in tubes; prove me wrong.

TBH, it was the original xBox that changes my mind.Eraser wrote:Ever since playing TimeSplitters 2 on the GameCube, I must say my dislike of playing 1st person shooters on consoles has ebbed away slowly.

Playing FPS games on a PS2/PS3, even a Cube... Its just wrong... The sticks are so bad, wrong places etc...
The Wii's half decent though at first person games, just not as fast as a mouse. I would still rather use a 360 pad, than a Wiimote. My arms get so tired playing Metroid 3

Re: Mirror's Edge
The CoD franchise plays great with a controller, as does GoW.

Jesus. Timesplitters, really? I had them pinned as dreadful. Truly, properly, dreadful.Eraser wrote:Ever since playing TimeSplitters 2 on the GameCube, I must say my dislike of playing 1st person shooters on consoles has ebbed away slowly.

I wish they would have got rid of the red hint things and have you try and figure where to go.
Re: Mirror's Edge
Looks like an espionage first-person Tomb Raider. Might be fun.

Re: Mirror's Edge
I'll probably have to squeeze this game into the other 5 or so games I'll be playing this fall.
Re: Mirror's Edge
I'm afraid you did something horribly wrong then. Apart from mouse/keyboard, I've never had better controls for a 1st person shooter than in Metroid Prime 3. The single player portion of TS2 might've been a bit naff, but the challenges and multiplayer more than made up for it.

that can be disabled.FragaGeddon wrote:I wish they would have got rid of the red hint things and have you try and figure where to go.

Re: Mirror's Edge
Call me crazy, but I like to RELAX in front of the TV, and Metroid stretches that a lot. Nothing at all wrong with the control, don't get me wrong. I just love to sit in my chair, relaxing, playing a game in front of the TV. I don't enjoy people watching me asking if I'm ok and telling me that it looks like I'm having a seizure.Eraser wrote:I'm afraid you did something horribly wrong then. Re: Mirror's Edge
Gonna have to disagree with you there skippy. TS1/2 were awesome. TS2 had levels that were straight rips of Goldeneye levels, too, even down to the sounds being exactly the same. THAT was awesome.Eraser wrote:lol, I loved both TS2 and Future Perfect. I thought they were awesome

TS3 was... Well... It was a let down. It went all generic and shit. It was the same as everything else and lost a lot of the fun of the original games.
Re: Mirror's Edge
well okay, if that's your opinion, then that's your opinion. To me it reads as jumping on a bandwagon. So many people say exactly the same thing, but MP3 is controlled with tiny movements from the wrist. You can rest your arms wherever you'd like. You don't have to play with outstretched arms like you see in the commercials.o'dium wrote:Call me crazy, but I like to RELAX in front of the TV, and Metroid stretches that a lot. I agree with your sentiment on TS3 though. It lacked TS2's personality, but I do think that for a single player campaign, it had more depth and was better polished than TS2's single player portion.
