Re: Crysis Warhead
Looks rentable.... at best.
Re: Crysis Warhead
I've played through it, it's pretty damn good. Kind of the big dumb shooter that Halo 3 should have been. Plus, it's incredibly pretty and the claims about the optimization are suprisingly truthful. Worth the asking price.
Re: Crysis Warhead
It's awesome. Gone are the alien caves and long, lonely walks across the island. New vehicles, new weapons, new gameplay elements, and a better story give Warhead the advantage.
Re: Crysis Warhead
i heard it comes with major securom DRM bullshit, and more fucking aliens
two reasons not sure if want

Re: Crysis Warhead
The Securom hasn't caused any problems for me and the aliens are fun to fight because you get tons of Scar and Gauss Rifle ammo throughout the game. Minigun's gone though.

Re: Crysis Warhead
Yup, same DRM as Spore, which is why I didn't buy it.
Re: Crysis Warhead
I haven't run into problems with SecuRom so far; a lot of the class action stuff over spore is hideously inflated. If you've installed the original Crysis, you've already got it anyway.
I suppose the limitation on number of installs is less relevant for Crysis as nobody has three machines capable of running it

Re: Crysis Warhead
The original Crysis doesn't come with a 3 install limit after which you have to phone EA on a phoneline they make money off of to release an activation.
Also, Crysis by its very nature dictates upgrades, and if you upgrade your hardware, you have to activate the game again. In a year or two, your game is useless unless you phone EA for an activation release.
I think the class action suit is the least that EA deserve.

Re: Crysis Warhead
If you buy it through steam you don't get that DRM bullshit thrown into your machine.
Re: Crysis Warhead
Wow, that is goddamn retarded.Mat Linnett wrote:The original Crysis doesn't come with a 3 install limit after which you have to phone EA on a phoneline they make money off of to release an activation.

Corrcection poo, you actually do in a double-retardation move. Click here for a summary.
Yes, that's right: EA have included DRM in a Steam version of the game, where Steam should be DRM enough.

Re: Crysis Warhead
I've only played the first half hour or so. Seems alright since I liked the combat in Crysis anyways.
Re: Crysis Warhead
yep, with all this drm bullshit, it's no wonder people are resorting to using pirated software to effectively "fix" their game.

Re: Crysis Warhead
Anyone else playing this?
I don't know...it performs better than crysis, but that's just because the texture/veg/object detail popup is horrible.
When I hack it with a config to alleviate this, it actually performs *worse*; pauses when I go to iron sight etc.
On the plus side: no alien bullshit (yet), just nice korean killing goodness.
