PS3

Post by Doombrain »

What, if any, games should I be getting for PS3?
What other toys can be bought for this thing?

Uncharted. Single best game on the system. Demo is online if you want to try it, but the full game is a lot better.

I must admit, I had absolutely no desire to play that game at first. Then a friend recommended it until i actually bought it, and I must say it really was excellent. Quite difficult in places, but it is challenging rather than frustrating.. I loved it.

Anyway, single best game is probably MGS4. I guess that goes without saying really.

hmm, looks OK.

I'm getting it for the BR player and media centre really, not as a games unit. BUT i am interested to see what the developers come up with in the next year and what the CELL can do.

I'm not sure I can be bothered with the 30min cut scenes but alot of deals pack this game in for £309 for the 80gig PS3. I get a good discount from the DSG group as well.

you cant remove the battery packs..so you either have to charge them via the short usb cable supplied, or buy a 3rd party charging stand. its kinda lame.

buy the bluetooth remote. navigating around with a controller while watching a movie is dumb.

older ones don't have rumble. you want the dual shock 2 controllers.

yes, the sixaxis (which is being phased out) and the dualshock 3. i believe the only difference is that dualshock has rumble.

also, i find the best part of the ps3 to be the downloadable games. Pixeljunk monsters is my favourite game on the ps3 (when playing co-op).

pixeljunk eden is also a good game. pixeljunk racer is only fun if you have a lot of people playing.

calling all cars isn't bad if you have 4 people playing. it's cheap enough that it's worth it i think.

super puzzle fighter ii turbo is a great, great game and anyone can pick it up.

Is it me or does the control look stiff? Might just be an alpha thing, the FC could be better.

how are you getting on with yours now shaft?

Ive used it mostly for media. Blu-ray is sweet.
Like these guys said, Uncharted is good. I bought MGS4, but got bored with it a couple months ago, you wouldn't like it.
The controller seems small and the sticks way too loose compared to the 360 controller.

Seems like a solid system, games are getting better. I don't regret buying it.

Got it with the new Star Wars game and Uncharted.

How are you going to do that? Rip w/ a HD-DVD drive on your computer, then re-encode and burn to BluRay?
