Wolfenstein Motion Capture Session

Post by obsidian »

A game is being developed by Raven Software, initially thought to be released sometime in 2008, but will likely be pushed back.
It will feature a strong female role, described as a "wacky, stiletto-heeled, cruel, sensual, strong, arrogant woman" who carries BIG guns.
Though not necessarily the main player (I think probably an NPC character who helps you from time to time, or maybe an antagonist).
Raven isn't working on a new Wolfenstein title, but more on a game "based on the 'Wolfenstein' series," with newer motion-capture technology and a local actress for the movie scenes, named Carrie Coon.

Carrie will wear a spandex suit with 63 reflective markers at strategic places on her body. Twenty-four infrared cameras in Raven's studios will track Coon's every move as she replicates movements that her character will perform in the game.

Coon is well known for being involved in Madison Repertory Theatre and American Players Theatre. She got Raven's attention after an audition process through the UW Theatre program:

"They had me kind of bust through doors with big guns and pretend I was an assassin being that didn't have a spine and club a body of something on the ground and sniff it," she said. "You know, it was one of the most bizarre audition experiences I've ever had in my life."

lol Carrie Coon.

On a more game-related note; It's good to see raven getting a local actress rather then waste there entire budget on a celebrity.
