If so, do you notice that uploading anything there takes forever? I'm uploading an 11 mb folder and it has taken over 1 hour so far. Every upload I make there is like doing dial up. DSL reports doesn't show me having any problems with upload speed so I just wondered if this is an issue with that webhost.
Anyone?
just checked dslreports - my upload speed tested at 890 kb/s, so there is no way an 11 meg transfer should be taking this long. And this is the only fucking place I have this issue with uploads.
Time to find a new host I guess.
Anyone here use phpwebhosting?

How are you uploading your files, FTP? You may want to contact them just to make sure that you are using the right ports. It really shouldn't take that long.

Yea, FTP. The ftp client being used by me shouldn't make any difference should it?obsidian wrote:How are you uploading your files, FTP? You may want to contact them just to make sure that you are using the right ports. It really shouldn't take that long.

Re: Anyone here use phpwebhosting?
is it a lot of files or 1 file? you said "folder"
My webhost's ftp server doesn't like when I hammer it with multiple (as many as 2!) connections while uploading small files, eventually one stream will time out and if it's very small files the 2nd will as well, and I have to restart. If this is what your client is doing, try setting it to upload only 1 at a time.

tnf, are you using active, passive or extended passive FTP mode? Try switching between the three.
