Dilemma
Dilemma
After playing Uncharted on PS3, I'm in no doubt how good and powerful the PS3 is, also a fucking great game and the best single player i've played since GoW.
The problem I have now is which platform do I use for multi-platform games like Mirrors edge? I couldn't give a fuck about gamer points on live or trophies on Ps3 I just want to make sure I'm getting the best experience for my easy made money.
Controller's better on the 360 but the PS3 runs quiet. no fucking loud fan noise at all.
Might have a cry about it later.

Re: Dilemma
Is the XBox's noise really an issue? I have my XBox on my desk next to my monitor and I don't even notice it's running...I have to look to make sure the green light is on before I send anything to it and test on it.

Re: Dilemma
I have a 1st gen elite and it's noisy next to the ps3, very noisy but quieter than my old white 360.
Anyway it's not about the noise , fatty.

Well if it's not about the noise then don't mention the noise ya dress-wearin queef.
Re: Dilemma
You could be experiencing some type of hearing loss. You may not be able to hear in the 8000hz to 12000hz range. You may want to get your hearing tested.GONNAFISTYA wrote:Is the XBox's noise really an issue? My hearing is fine but I'll go for a hearing test if you can explain how a stable black hole is formed.xer0s wrote: You could be experiencing some type of hearing loss. You may not be able to hear in the 8000hz to 12000hz range. You may want to get your hearing tested.

If I were you i'd be more concerned with the fact you can't hear a 360 spinning its drive and your cholesterol level.GONNAFISTYA wrote:Well if it's not about the noise then don't mention the noise ya dress-wearin queef.

Typically there really isn't a difference between cross platform games. Unless, one is released later than the other with some extra goodies.

Re: Dilemma
If its mp go with whatever your friends have. If its sp and you're cool with the tiny ps3 controller go with that.
Re: Dilemma
about 360 being loud.. with the new update you can copy games to your HDD, making it a lot more quiet.
personally I'd go for 360 for its awesome Live, and I dig the controller more. cept for fightinggames :s

Re: Dilemma
if you play online with certain people a lot then buy the game for the console most of them have.
if you don't care who you play with online then buy it for the console you enjoy using most (ie. controller or not having to pay to play online)
i fucking hate the ps3 controller when compared to the 360s, but at the same time i hate paying to play a game online even more when i'm used to playing for free. despite my preference for the 360 controller, i've been using the basic playstation controller ever since the PSX so i'm used to it and understand how to use it, therefore it isn't that much of a setback. the PS3s free online gaming is a plus and is pretty reliable at the moment and getting even more so by the minute.

Re: Dilemma
Maybe consider the following things:
- Is the game released for one platform earlier than the other?
- Is the price for one platform lower than for the other?
- Do you want to play online against people you know, if yes, how many people do you know that want this game that have an xbox and how many have a ps3?

Yeah, the disk is the loudest part but what I find irritates me now is the constant drone from the 360 from the cooling fans.MKJ wrote:about 360 being loud.. with the new update you can copy games to your HDD, making it a lot more quiet.

I think MP games = 360, SP = PS3. Oh, and I can't even sell my HD DVD drive with 20 HD DVDs for £60

PS, lol at mazda almost fracturing a finger to get the flame in.

Re: Dilemma
I picked up a PS3 about 3 weeks ago, and there's a lot to like about it. In general, the console just feels more swish than the 360, and I've been really impressed with the media capabilities of the thing.
It's also just got Wipeout HD which is an absolute steal at £11.99.
Which reminds me, the PS3 online store doesn't fuck about with points. You just buy your games with real money, so there's less worries about being ripped off due to the absence of a points system.
PlayTV turns it into a fully functioning PVR as well, which might be something worth considering.
On the downside, I tend to buy exclusive titles for consoles when possible and cross-platform titles on the PC; and at the moment, the PS3's exclusive title line up isn't that great.
Sure, you've got Little Big Planet coming up, and there's MGS4 if that sort of thing floats your boat, but the rest (aside from the aforementioned Uncharted & Wipeout) is rather lacklustre.
Resistance is a pale immitation of GoW (and I don't even like GoW that much), Heavenly Sword is beautiful but stupid and short, and the rest of the exclusives seem to all be racers.
I do think however that it's got that biggest potential of all 3 contenders.
Let's just hope developers step up to the plate.

Re: Dilemma
well put. i really get the feeling that when the software starts the flow for the PS3, the xbox is going to be in trouble.
