We should come to some agreement on always mentioning from what game the screenies are. I hate when I can't figure it out :)

Finished my little cartoonish environment, rendered in 3ds max with mental ray and an ink 'n' paint material.

BJA

Do I spy simple collision hulls?
What engine is that?
Because if you managed to get quake 3 to look that way you should try and make it into a game and sell it!

It's a 3ds Max render, it hasn't been imported into any particular game.

As already mentioned, this is not an ingame scene, but rendered in 3ds max.

To be clear: the shot isn't in-game. Rather, it's a shot from 3dsMax.

More shots of Objective B area for a CoD 4 map I'm working on.

Something looks off with this tank though and I'm not entirely sure what it is. Any thoughts/suggestions?

Ignore the temporary fence and yellow texture.

Silicon, that yellow texture has really a nice atmosphere of being under construction.

Any chance of you finishing this one... it looks like a nice layout. Even a beta version would be cool.

hmm i think the map/bsp files are either long gone or buried deep in the bowels of my archive CD collection, and it wouldn't have worked with bots

also, i've just noticed a shader sorting issue with the steam in the pic you've just quoted. it's drawing behind the water. yik

Me likey, seremtan, trippeh!
That curvy spiralling staircase shit looks like a nightmare for botplay, or human play for that matter, but you probably were just experimenting with aethetics anyway.
The basketball court one looks like a winner, for gameplay purposes.
Those are all q3 renders, right? Amazing how good it looks, still.

These are shots from the final submissions to Unearthly Challenge 08.

Modelled in Blender, c.26k tris. Rendered in Quake 4.

Is this the same map I'm thinking of or does it look very different than when I last saw these screenshots (green).

I can't remember  but our chat about those twirly things were for the handles on the doors you can just about see in the top shot. I've got to write something up on this so I'll post some more info when I can; in the end though I went with 2D templates put through crazybump which worked out surprisingly well.

Thanks. I really have to learn how to work with textures though. I'm so tired of working from other peoples textures :(
