Demo server?

Heya. Are there any demoservers for this game still running + populated? Im interested because of Quakelive which I understand is supposed to be similar, maybe get a headstart on my pro-gaming career

Ive had a search on some external server browsers with no success. maybe someone can provide an IP or at least insight... regards

I installed the demo a few months ago via Steam, and I remember scanning around 15 populated servers.

i used to play on the demo everyday but now that i got into the quake live beta, i spend most of my time there.

Most of the demo server are all freeze tag, and rail servers. the only good 1v1 is LAX.

Oh and by the way (even if you were being sarcastic :P) I though i would get a good start on playing against pros if i played the demo, and i was WRONG. Most of the competitiveness is Vq3 and the demo is just BaseQ3.

Are vanilla and baseq3 not the same? Do u mean practicing the demo only prepares u for the demo, or ... ?

Ive only played a little so far, and yeh the servers have strange settings

VQ3 == baseq3. Playing the demo won't hurt but there is a considerable skill gap between the demo scene and the hardcore 1.32 crowd.

Besides, most people don't play VQ3 but CPMA or OSP.
