Yes, the amperage is what you really need to worry about. 500 milliamps can induce ventricular fibrillation, but I've been zapped by many kilovolts with no ill effects. The big worry from higher voltages is usually burns. I got a lovely jolt from a spark plug once (~50kV) and all it did was make me jump. The ~8kV shock I got from a TV picture tube once was FAR worse as I suspect the current I took was a fair bit higher, plus it went up my left arm, across my chest, and down my right arm. Just about the worst possible path. Good thing I'm a superhero, it probably would have killed a mere mortal like yourself.

correct. static electricity is about 10kV but hardly any Amps. you dont hear about people getting electrocuted after rubbing balloons much do you.

It's really all relative to the resistance of your skin, which will determine the intensity of the poke. Under normal conditions, dry skin has a resistance between 100,000 to 300,000 ohms. Wet or moist skin ( say from sweating ) will have approx 1000 ohms. quite a difference when you want to be issolated from what you're working on

Around here, being an electrical engineer doesn't mean much to anyone who has to apply the design. Half of the imaginary shit the engineers put on drawings, they aren't sure how to execute. The other half is usually poorly designed and has to be corrected in the field.

Automated test, control, and instrumentation systems. We design systems around National Instruments measurement and control hardware and write all the software to run it using LabVIEW and TestStand. I create schematics, specify parts, help the techs with assembly, write code, meet with clients, test and debug our systems, deliver and install them, etc., etc.
Right now I'm working on two projects; a series of test systems for a chemical weapons detection system from a major defense contractor and a code base upgrade for a motor dynamometer test lab application.

next, I am painting a wall perpendicular on the wall I removed the hood from the outlet, but had to use some force, so I leaned onto the wall to the left
