Everyone go download No Heroics right fucking now. Do it. Why are you still reading this fucking sentence?
Jesus, listen for once. It's only 6 half hour episodes in Season 1, it's not like it's going to hurt you.

Re: What are your favourite TV shows (past/present)?
unless the RIAA catches you. then it hurts.
Re: What are your favourite TV shows (past/present)?
It's true, the folks in charge of American music labels get really mad when you download television shows from ITV2.

Re: What are your favourite TV shows (past/present)?
"Two and a half men" is pretty fucken funny.

on that note, an excollegue of mine now works at the dutchee equivalent of the MPAA.. every single employee there is ripping dvds and trading screeners of the new movies that come in on a daily basis. seriously, wtf.

Les Stroud (Survivorman) has freely admitted being close to civilization on a number of occasions in his episodes. The points he makes about what works and what doesn't are still valid though and he doesn't have any contact or food during the time he is in the outdoors.axbaby wrote:Survivor man did a show just 20 km from where i am typing this .. he also did one where i used to work in the arctic .. the show is so exagerated in it's danger it's stupid.

Man vs. Wild, on the other hand, is a joke. Bear Grylls has been found using hotels, etc while claiming to be "surviving" and does stunts that could get someone killed if they did the same in an emergency.

Dexter - Season 3 now, the novelty of 'sympathizing with a serial killer' has worn off a bit, but still really well written and introducing Jimmy Smits' character as 'a partner in crime' is interesting, but you just know dexter will have to kill him at some point, right?
Heroes - Think I'm going to stop watching this. It's getting really stale, boring even. Just lacks the urgency that the first seasons had. Plus having a character that can time travel (Hiro) should logically eliminate all bad scenarios, because he should be able to right all wrongs
House - Also getting old and formulaic. You just know that the patient will first be seemingly diagnosed correctly, then have an 'unexpected' relapse, and House comes up with some other, convoluted bullshit diagnosis ... the end
Dead Set - Just started watching this. Interesting twist on the zombie genre with the isolated Big Brother thing. But I only watched the first, longer episode, so I'm curious how they keep the suspense going. They should have played out how the Big Brother contestants are unaware of the situation longer, imo
True Blood - I really like this. The matter of fact approach to supernatural things being normal is cool. Great music and I dig the lazy, cajun setting. However, the main question: 'who's the killer?' can only be stretched out for so long, and I wonder if and how the series continues after that is revealed
Breaking Bad - Pending, please come back. There have only been 6 (?) episodes, and judging from that I really wonder how the writers could get any longevity out of this, because things seem to have come to a pretty much definitive head
Also pending - Lost and BSG, because I'm curious what BS scenarios they come up with
For the rest Colbert Report (much better than the daily show, imo) and South Park (getting pretty awful, and generically spoofy lately)

Yeah, I thought Sam *was* the dog, because they hinted at it in the first episode, but then they showed them together in the same shot, and I dismissed it.
I agree that just having vampires is enough hocus pocus.
I just hope that it doesn't turn into a vampires vs shapeshifters dealio, a la Underworld.
Re: What are your favourite TV shows (past/present)?
Haven't watched it, yet.Pext wrote:hey guys... does anyone of you like californication?
I'm not particularly a fan of David Duchovny.
This show is him being a playa playa get a lotta pussy kind of thing, right?
I get flashbacks of red shoes diaries, and just assume this is more of the same soft porn garb.
But maybe I'm wrong. Do you like it?
Re: What are your favourite TV shows (past/present)?
Yeah. He's playing a cool dude: alcoholic and sex addict - though not a player; he stumbles into chicks who fuck with him. There's only like one 10-20 second sex scene in every episode. What i like about the show is the attitude it has. It's not really serious or responsible and gives me a relaxed feeling.
