there exist a empty space map.....

Hi. I´m new in mapping so before doing a map I want to see if there exist.
I have the idea of making a space map but not for playing but for look at the space. I mean, in some maps you can put a 3D image (6 images in each side of the "cube") and make it like a real world. I want to do the same for the space, with stars and things like that. So, first. Is there a map that recreates like being in the middle of nowhere in space? Just to be there and feel the emptyness?.

Ok, if it doesn´t exist, I would like to know which requirements for I need for the 6 pictures to create a nice space box, specially with the lighting, shader, size, quality and things like that. Im a noob sorry.
I know how to create the rest.

Well, there are certainly space sky boxes available. You could use one of those to create your effect. I think one comes with the game, but there are tons of sky boxes available for DL.

I wrote a tutorial on creating skyboxes here.

It is based on the great work by lloydm and automates things a lot.

Terragen ain't great for space skies though.

RaspAtan, check The Wadfather under "Environment Maps" for a lot of sky choices.

I just did a quick search, using "otherworldly" and "Quake 3" to narrow the choices, and came up with these.
