i'm not convinced testo was BM though. is that a verified fact?
watched this. eye-opening, but i felt that the various contributors underestimated the possibility of human ingenuity overcoming the problem of energy[xeno]Julios wrote:The End of Suburbia
for one thing, there's consumption: can technology be adapted to use less energy to do the same thing (or more)? also energy production: can this be made more efficient to ensure net energy output? these are scientific and technological problems, and we've never been in such a good position to solve them. mostly the doc gives off this message of dark doom and 'shrinkage' and only at the end made even a mention of anything better

Re: recommend me some documentaries
refreshing thread, btw.
Re: recommend me some documentaries
True that. I just thought it might be a bit too "special-interest" (given the amount of GFX-people who frequent this board, a major brain-fart on my behalf.)zeeko wrote:Helvetica-- Fucking fantastic.

Tried to find a good site that streams end of suburbia but couldn't find one. The only one I did find looks so shitty you can't even tell what you're looking at.
Re: recommend me some documentaries
Just saw "Victor Borge: 100 Years of Music and Laughter" on PBS. Dude is hilarious. Don't know if there's a version available for download anywhere, but you can probably find snippets on youtube.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0 ... ime_It_Is/Horizon: Do You Know What Time It Is?
Particle physicist Professor Brian Cox asks, 'What time is it?' It's a simple question and it sounds like it has a simple answer. But do we really know what it is that we're asking?
