Q4[MP]::Competitive Instinct

Post by phantazm11 »

Hey,

I noticed that I forgot to post one of my finished maps on this board. The map has been done for a while, and I'm posting it for those who may not have seen it on my website. Below is a screenshot and a link that will give you more information about the map and the download:

Competitive Instinct: A Q4 DM, Tourney map set inside a futuristic sports arena.

From what I can see and read this map sounds great, would you mind linking a few more screenshots? Q4 isn't installed.

Noticing the Activision and quake 4 logo on the walls and the professional quality design.
Is this just a community map or was it made for a specific reason?

I ask because even a glint of a chance that I can make a community map that garners more than 100 downloads a year i would be all over that LOL...

ix-ir: You can find more screenshots of this map on my website. The specific page can be seen Here.

Castle: This map actually was made for a reason, just not what you are thinking. This was done as a design test for a game studio. I was asked to produce a map in a specific theme and to do so in ten days, which I did. Unfortunately for me, they hired someone else instead.

Sorry to hear that man.
Looks pretty tight from the screen shots. Competition must have been pretty intense.
Best of luck

Yeah, that's what came to my mind, too. The map looks great, downloading.

You used stock assets throughout? And better things will come along, they always do ;)

Thanks for the kind words guys :)

g0th: Thanks man. Yeah, the test was about a year ago. I can't remember when I first uploaded it to my site.

Kat: Everything is stock, though I was free to use any textures I could get my hands on. And I hope you are right about that :)

I'm going to take a guess and say that this was made as a demonstration for id software. Method had to do the same thing I believe. Ten days to make a map, which his was "Yan's Test". Sorry you didn't get the job though man, love your maps.

Hmn. Not sure how I missed this .. but things have been busy.

I played Quake 4 for the first time in about ten months the other night.. and man, is my aim bad. Like, really bad.. console games will do that to you. Still, I'll have to download this and give it a try; I'm going to try to get some guys together for some Q4 LAN and beer after the holidays..

Nice to see you're still out there, Phant!
