Israel, you're so close. Just a few more settlements in the west bank and some more attacks in the strip, and you'll have it all.

Oh, my bad. Remind me again how many people of certain ethnic or religious background must be murdered to be qualified for standard genocide status? Thanks.

i'd say genocide is an intentional effort to wipe a certain group out

killing 228 people is a massacre, but *not* a genocide.

it wouldn't be a bad day at the office, genocidally speaking.

googled that map/timeline and the original source looks like http://www.kibush.co.il/index.asp
it's made up of blogs and news articles about the occupation of swedenistan (for anyone who'd rather skip the reptilian overlords stuff).

Poke a big guy in the eye with a stick and he's gonna beat the shit outta 'ya. Israel has one of the strongest militaries in the world and the retarded hamas are lobbing rockets.

Stupid. No sympathy here.

To be fair, though, Israel's actions since 1949 probably do qualify. This incident? No.

ffs, this has dragged on for so long only an extreme optimist would believe it's ever going to be resolved satisfactorily.

I'm not really educated on the subject, but why not let the UN split shit down the middle and bring in troops to enforce peace.
*Kinda* worked in Yugoslavia.
Worth a shot, although with two parties so emotional and reluctant to budge, they'd probably have to be there indefinitely.

[geoff]Plus there are interests in play that thrive on this ongoing conflict[/geoff].
