Well we have had our first 2 days with above freezing temps in 2 weeks. Good for the roads that have been plowed, not so much for the neighborhoods.

Well the warm up and melt off was nice, but brief. Yesterday I was driving on bare pavement again. Now we have 6 new inches (and falling still) and a nice layer of ice underneath it. Time to go shovel again.

Gah.

back went out during the last bout of shoveling. Can't stand up straight right now, pain shooting down the back of my thigh and all along the top of my pelvic bone. I'm pretty immobile right now. My back was in good shape too, just one of those things from shoveling so much fucking snow in the last 2 weeks. Going to pop some corticosteroids, advil and a few of the few hundred oxycodone's I still have lying around and try to get back out there. Snowblowers are sold out across the city, and most of the next shipments are already spoken for at many of the stores except for the big chains that don't reserve them.

It was almost 70 here on Saturday. Very strange to have the house open all day in late December in Ohio.

People around here are going on about where the global warming is - missing the point that weather systems are out of whack all over the fucking place.

It's still nice here in Florida. I think the high today was in the low 80's.

Enjoy the snow TNF.

Could be, but that's irrelevant. The point is that lots of snow in one area doesn't invalidate the fact that things are changing. If you want to argue against the science behind global warming, going with the "HEY ITS SNOWING HERE - THEY MUST BE WRONG" is about as valid as "MAN THE SUN IS REAL BIG - THEY MUST BE WRONG" argument.

Oh and the official total for today was 11 new inches on my driveway. We've had 58.9 inches this month.

Dat's a pretty good snowfall, and I was kiddin about the global warming thing btw :)

The weathers been pretty odd here too. Rain this time of year isn't very common.

someone's givin away free hand jobs? wha?

i would make an awesome ice cave out of that mound of snow... the last one i did had tunnels going up and down the driveway with a fort at the bottom where the snow was highest.

Well I have noticed that the back door to the house is not opening and closing easily - the weight from all the snow is starting to affect the doorjamb I think. I have a steep roof but am going to have to do something about the ice dams on it. Going to have to get up on the roof - won't be fun with how steep it is. Maybe I'll use the rock climbing gear.

Did a nice peter pan off the roof of my brother's house yesterday. We shoveled some of the roof (huge, huge pain in the ass with the snow over your knees and nowhere to put it all) and planned on jumping off into the large snowpiles - only about an 8-10 foot drop with the height of the pile. He went first without any problem. then I started to jump, foot slipped on the ice and moved forward, front toe caught the rain gutter, tipped me forward, and I dropped face first like a skydiver with his arms on to his side right into the snow.
Wish that could have been caught on video.

Bought a snowblower today at Lowe's - they got a shipment in this morning and they were all gone within a couple hours.
Couldn't really be picky with the model or price with the demand here, but it was a pretty good deal at $600.

Now it won't snow for the rest of the year.
