Since sierra shut their doors the dedicated servers for tribes 2 (which was a free download for a time) were also shut down. I loved this game back in the day it's teamplay with jetpacks at it's best and it looks like some people have decided to keep it alive.

You can download the client and patch and play online apparently. I'm d/l it now. I dunno if you guys liked it but I always thought it was fun.

You all should seriously download this and play it if you liked Tribes at all. Somethingawful users have been running a really good server or two that gets up to 60 people (no bots) using the Classic mode. It's fucking insane amounts of fun, and you don't need any CD key or anything. You just download the game, download the patch, then you can create a new account no problems.

tried playing tribes2 once when it was still retail and got accused of o sniping like it was the worst thing in the world.
i can understand a bit of whining about spawncamping, but throwing a hissy fit because some 'o sniper' shot you and your mates at near point blank range and then ran off with your flag is just silly. reminded me of the whiners in urban terror that would say you were a talentless sr8 whore for pretty much the same thing. if they spent less time crying and more time learning to shoot straight themselves then they wouldn't be down a point.
will have to download and see if there are any decent euro servers running. always meant to have a proper look at the vehicles. btw, has anyone tried the tribes game at http://www.instantaction.com ? - and where's ryoki? haven't seen him on here for ages.

I'm actualy quite surprised at how much fun this game still is. Been playing it all day and still loving it. There's actualy a lot of servers up with lots of people.
