help? q3 graphics!

hi, the wall graphics on my q3 arena are black. everything works fine until i sign in to a game and the walls and floor are black, so all i see is the sky, and some flames. so the game is unplayable now. any idea on how to fix this? thanks

it is a retail copy. duh. hence me saying that it is unplayable now.....it has been working fine for years up until just recently..... thanks for nothing
