So I bought a new shotgun...

Post by YourGrandpa »

I've been itching to get a newer shotgun for a few months. I wanted one that I could 'tac' out. I had an old S&W 12 g that I couldn't find any parts for. So today I decided to take the old gun up to a local gun shown and see if I could work a deal. As luck would have it, I found the shotgun I was looking for and the dealer gave me a good trade-in amount. I bought the Mossberg 500A. It came with the 8 round extended capacity, heat shield, parkerized finish, standard forend and pistol grip. I then was able to find a dealer selling "tactical" accessories and purchased a new forend and pistol grip stock. The new nylon forend has a weaver rail that will support the moutning of a flash light, laser, etc. and has a removable vertical foregrip. The pistol grip stock is an AR-15 style, 6 position collapsible stock with buttpad.

This is it completely assembled.

I might put a ghost ring site and a flash light on it, just for a more tactical look.

Gramps, you're allowed to have a shotgun for home defense, but it must be a piece of shit and no accessories allowed!

It's a sweet lookin boom stick. The only shotguns I have are a Remington 870 and a Browning. I need a nice shotty I can pimp out like that. But I still haven't finished my AR-15. It still needs a scope and I'd like to get a laser for it as well. Ammo is getting so high, I need to start reloading again. Good thing I've got a proggresive reloader. I can kick out around 1000 rounds per hour with it...

I know you really enjoy calling me a redneck and I would never want to take that away from you. As a matter of fact, I too find it funny. But can you explain why you call me a redneck? I'm just curious.

Yeah, ammo is getting out of control. However, you do have a popular shotty. You can find all kinds of tactical accessories for an 870. I was going to get an 870 or the Mossberg, for that very reason. Both guns are reasonably priced and upgradable.

Check out.

Only $2300.00? Wow! You could probably sell that bad boy now for a $1000.00 profit.

Pardon the Quake reference, but that's the original BFG.

Have you had the opportunity to shoot that beast? What other guns do you have?

I'm looking for a semi-automatic .308 rifle. Any suggestions?
