Oh, he was awesome in Wing Commander THE MOVIE4days wrote:had to google that name, then i lolled
i don't see why another actor having a crack at the job would be massively different from another artist or writer working on the comic.
sort of on-topic: i've read one batman comic with the 'new' joker and i wasn't massively impressed, he's a much more thuggish character and less entertaining for it.
The Ultimate Joker

I love quake!
Re: The Ultimate Joker
I loved Nicholson when I saw him in the Keaton Batman, but Ledger blew him out of the water. Amazing performance.
That said..... what a load of crap. I doubt Ledger would have supported this anyway. Any serious actor would welcome someone to top him - if Ledger wouldn't have thought the same, then why honor him anyway?
I can't understate his performance in the role. I also can't understate the egregious stupidity in this fanboi movement.

Re: The Ultimate Joker
Ledger was basically playing Nicholson's joker, with tourette's. OTOH, bet the producers are pissed that they kept him alive at the end of the movie...
Re: The Ultimate Joker
quick everybody mention a pencil, lols guaranteed !!
Re: The Ultimate Joker
if they want to remember him properly then they should petition for a joker-endorsed "please read the label" health and safety campaign.
Re: The Ultimate Joker
This is the dumbest idea. Why would somebody ever do this?Don Carlos wrote:http://www.theultimatejoker.com/img-sup ... r-card.pdfFans of the late Heath Ledger have launched a net campaign aimed at ensuring that his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight remains the ultimate and definitive outing for the character.
That's according to website The Ultimate Joker, which is pressuring Hollywood to retire the Joker on the grounds that Ledger's interpretation of the villain "is the best an actor could ever do".
Site co-founder Fer Barbella elaborated to Wired: "Any other performance will be below expectations for sure, so we want to forever keep Ledger's Joker as the one."
Barbella assured, however, that his concern is merely with celluloid representations. He added: "Television and animation is off our radar. And we like Jokers like Cesar Romero or Jack Nicholson, and even the voice of Mark Hamill. But we think this psycho in scarred whiteface is the best ever. No one can improve it. So please, Hollywood, use other enemies in the sequels to come."
The Ultimate Joker's Ledger mission is backed by downloadable media (pdf) and a Flickr page inviting fans to show their public support. ®

Do it...
edit: Instead of just being beligerent I'm actually going to explain myself a bit through comic book nerdage. See, in Batman the Joker is a character that continually reinvents himself all the time - it's as much a part of his character as the green hair and white face paint. Keeping this in mind, I think they shouldn't skip a beat and place a new Joker in the next Batman movie. They could either have the actor act like Ledger or do something completely different. Either way it would work.
Re: The Ultimate Joker
aw, poor fanboys. i mean, i get where they're coming from. they just don't know how to quit him
