Joaquin Phoenix hits rock bottom...
Did anyone see him on Letterman? He has really gone off the deep end...

Oh geez us! I couldn't even watch the whole thing.

It was actually pretty funny to watch.
But yeah, he apparently doesn't care anymore. Meh, neither do I.

maybe i'm missing some important back story about his current life, but that just looked like a piece of great comedy acting on his part...

Screening process.
Re: Joaquin Phoenix hits rock bottom...
Joaquin is brilliant.
Re: Joaquin Phoenix hits rock bottom...
He said that he plans on retiring from acting forever and focus on his music career... as a hiphop artist. He threw a tantrum on stage recently while "performing" and a few other stunts including this Letterman one. I suspect he's working on something different, and this "hiphop" thing is somehow tied into it all, but probably has nothing to do with actual music.[xeno]Julios wrote:maybe i'm missing some important back story about his current life, but that just looked like a piece of great comedy acting on his part...

It is a film he is doing with Casey Afleck - a sort of Spinal Tap job that will be quality if the rumours are true.
If not then poor Joaquin - We are witnessing the destruction of a fine actor

Brings back memories of that classic Crispin Glover interview. Painful to watch, but i'm not entirely convinced he wasn't just acting. If it is real, it's a massive shame as he is/was a brilliant actor.

Re: Joaquin Phoenix hits rock bottom...
How is this a big deal at all? Off the deep end? I don't think so.
Re: Joaquin Phoenix hits rock bottom...
Well Puff, when someone has a complete change in personality, its a little strange. Also, when you go on a talk show, your expected to be pleasant and to tell some stories and have an all-around good time. That obviously didn't happen. And you could tell Dave was getting a little agitated because he wouldn't talk much...

Also, I'm sure the producers of his new movie coming out really appreciate him plugging the film like he did...
