Resi 4. HD
Re: Resi 4. HD
Is the second shot supposed to be the better one? Because it isn't.

Re: Resi 4. HD
Yeah, I think I agree with Trans...
Re: Resi 4. HD
I dunno. It looks different, but not necessarily better...
Re: Resi 4. HD
BTW, what are you doing up at 4:00am talking about this?
Re: Resi 4. HD
Memph... master of the metaphor.
Re: Resi 4. HD
I saw you playing on Steam so I dl'd RE4 and tried it with mods. Still total garbage- the movies are .mpg instead of in game cutscenes, so the feel of the game is ruined every time it's switched. The keyboard controls are unplayable, you simply cannot play with a mouse. After playing the GC version so long, there's absolutely no way to stomach playing the PC version even with so many mods. Instantly "recycled".
Though it got me playing Dead Space again, which is an awesome, intense game.

Re: Resi 4. HD
So I'm playing Dead Space and I'm at the part where the unkillable regenerating monster is chasing me. These bits are tense as FUCK and I hate playing them (because they're so fucking scary). Survival horror dies as soon as you can kill everything- this kind of shit is as scary as you can get and more games need to do it like this. AVP2 was only scary when you were out of ammo, I hope next AVP game there's something like this where you just have to run and avoid, it's a great way to keep the tension.

Re: Resi 4. HD
Yes, the LEGIT game does have it, and yes, the LEGIT game will cause you problems. But... Ya know...Chupacabra wrote:i'd like to check out deadspace for pc, but doesn't it have all that securom shit or whatever?

I think if you download the non-Steam version, there is no copy protection to worry about.Chupacabra wrote:i'd like to check out deadspace for pc, but doesn't it have all that securom shit or whatever?

I'll give you that, but it doesn't necessarily look better.Memphis wrote:Actually no, every single texture in the game has been changed.Don Carlos wrote:Photoshop - sharpen :P

I know they're two totally different games, but what do most people here think is better, Mass Effect or Dead Space? I'm going to end up with both, but I can only play one game at a time or I never end up finishing them. I still have Bioshock still in it's plastic wrap that's been on my shelf for almost a year too.
The only game I stopped playing was Gears of War and that was recently to play the first Fear, which I like a lot better so far. Gears of War was pretty, but it reminded me of those old arcade games with the guns, where you don't move and just go from one fire fight to the next and I got bored.

Re: Resi 4. HD
If you're going to get both, what difference does it make which you play first? Play BioShock now, then get Mass Effect, as it may go down in price between now and then. Dead Space is still a recent game and won't likely drop in price for a long while.

Re: Resi 4. HD
I only play about 10-15 hours a month. I bought Fallout 3 when it was released and just recently finished beating it. So which ever game I choose to play first I'm stuck with it for a while.
Re: Resi 4. HD
Oh, well in that case...

Re: Resi 4. HD
Yeah, go check Blockbuster's used titles. I picked up GTA4 and Mass Effect for $15 total.
Re: Resi 4. HD
Mass Effect is better than almost any other game I can think of, so get that.

Re: Resi 4. HD
Dead Space is £15 at the moment in a few shops, which is a bargain.
Bioshock is £10 if you look about.
And Mass Effect is, what, £7.99?
Get all three
They are all worth it.
