I'm glad I didn't quit this game because of the sketchy controls. I've adapted to them well enough to move around pretty well (if this means I suck at games, so be it.) A lot of it is really derivative but I think some of the firefights are really good - like CoD4 its one of those games that shines with a digital surround setup cranked up, little details like the shells hitting the ground, etc., really make for great atmosphere and the battles can be really intense. I'd much rather be playing it with controls that weren't like these, but it's been fun.

Fix doesn't fix the controls for most. In fact, there are now 3 types of people:

Those who don't notice.
Those who have fixed controls.
Those who still have shite controls.

So yeah, the fix still isn't there, for me at least. I kept this game in hope of a fix, but there isn't gonna be one anytime soon so its getting traded today.

Some of the guys who made this game frequent the same bar as me. They get drunk and then make fools of themselves by asking everyone around them if they have played their game... which noone ever has. Dorks.

Did they release a controller fix? I missed that the links, just saw that they are considering a fix. If they did release a fix, how would it not fix everyone's controls when the update is applied?

Really glad I kept this game for as long as I have...it is mint as you get further along, phenomenal levels and firefights.

No wonder my sniping has gotten so much better.
So how does someone 'not get the fix' as o'dium described? Or do they just not like the controls even after the fix?

Theres lots of reasons. They didn't actually fix the lag at all, they simply changed the dead zone of the sticks. The lag is still there just as much as it was before.

The problem was that Lag AND dead zone made the issue worse. But now its just Lag. The dead zones still not amazing, but the lag is defo still there.

So yeah, you get the people who can see it, people who cant and people who have no difference from last time...

Christ, I pre-ordered this game at play.com in the UK. They shipped it 25th of feb, still not here. I'll have to wait 21 days before they'll investigate.

Till that time I'll just have to amuse myself with Metal Gear Solid 4 and o'dicunt's oral dribble.

To be honest, after the patch I'm still finding the controls to be terrible.

The controls, as they are now, aren't difficult to get used to, and if they were like they are now from the beginning at most I would have said they are not as responsive as I'd like, but that they don't take away from the game's playability in the long run. Especially when you consider the fact that much of the combat is tactical in nature, looking for and firing from cover and not trying to tear into the middle of a shitstorm and use lightning fast reflexes to headshot 7 enemies in 7 seconds.

Unfortunate you harbor so much righteous indignation because this is a great game. Flawed of course, but still worth the time.

Worth the time...? The single player took me little over 4 hours to beat, with nothing new or different involved, and the multiplayer is a flawed watered down COD4...

Graphics don't make a game.

If it took you 4 hours then I have no idea what you were doing other than mindlessly running through it without taking notice of what the game has to offer. In short, I think someone is telling porkies...

o'dium seems to beat games really fast.

What is the best way to describe his opinions on games and how everyone's perspective on them but his own is utter drivel?

The multiplayer has more to offer than COD4 without a doubt. The problem is that it's completely hamstringed by the sluggish controls.

In short, if this game had COD4 responsive controls it would be an absolute white whale of a title in contention for best MP ever.

Honestly lads, the game is nothing special SP wise, its as generic as hell. I played on the second from last difficulty, too.

I even stopped to look at some things, and with the exception of the sniper level (one hit kills are fucking CHEAP) I walked it.

I'm not alone with this gametime either, and if you think KZ2's game time is long, or even normal, then holy christ you must be playing some shitty games.

SPOILER: There was another section that annoyed me, and that was the last boss... Oh, so much fun, lets just spawn a billion people at once to shoot at him, wiht hardly any cover and a dumb as shit AI partner who cant shoot anything but can say "fuck" every second word....

Yea, it really sucks that games like KZ2 are a dime a dozen now. God I would hate it to have a ton of shooters like this to play, short or long.

I got KZ2 in the mail a few days ago. I'm going to sell it for a couple of reasons: I get FPS-nausea from the slow turns and it bores me.

I loved the demo, but it's just repetitive (for me). Shame.
