yea its a great tool. Wish they had it when we were kids eh?
Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
I can explain if you'd like - they didn't have it when I was a kid, they didn't have it when he was a kid, ergo they didn't have it when we were kids. Aren't the intricacies of the English language great?
Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos

Isn't it just Lego...? Like "sheep"? I mean, you don't say "sheeps"

Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
The pros are using LDraw which looks like it's more of a Lego CAD program. It's used to create some of the really amazing and massive models like the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser with 30,500 pieces and almost 7' in length! Anyone have $5500 in spare change I can borrow/*cough*steal*cough*?

Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
not a big fan of the way legos are these days. too many specialized pieces.
Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
thats was a popular misconception i had as well after having grown up and left lego behind for quite a number of years then seeing some of the newer kits with specialized pieces
now that i'm back with it i realize i was 100% wrong in assumeing it wasnt and awesome improvement that only adds and doesnt detract in any way
so yea imo its better than ever

Still the best thing made with lego.

Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos

ps
plained's topic and initial post was readable, and as the thread progresses he reverts to his usual style...close but no cigar!
still, a definite improvement

Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
Yeah plained, explain yourself... did you fall out of character there for a bit or did you accidentally hit all of the right buttons for once..?

plained wrote:i think it can be done
but the quality will suffer from the things mentioned like screen demensions and image compresion and of cource the lag
still tho with those drawbacks i would think there will be a massive demand 4 it cuz of all the bored@work peeps that want to own some noobs
there are so many great familer games and so many gamers

Lego used to be cool and somewhat challenging, but it's like they had to make all the kits easier and stupider for a new generation of retards.
I had so much fun as a kid using the blocks I had trying to make stuff I saw in a catelogue. I don't know if I posted these before but these are the last things I made before I stopped playing around with them when I was 14 or something. Can't believe I still have the pics, lol:

I built this one with just a few pictures overall and one close up of the leg construction. I took it apart later, which was dumb as fuck of me. Thing was boss.

I love quake!
Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
Lego ftw.
I'm not a fan of the new specialized sets and pieces, because it seems like they defeat the purpose of using legos to build new stuff.

@feedback: Nice. I love the plane especially. In James May's Toy Stories on BBC Two, he is going to take some of Britain's best-loved toys and put generations of families at the heart of some ludicrously ambitious adventures that will remind us all of the joys of making something together, with toys that have long captured the imagination.
...
In each episode James and his team will be faced with a new toy challenge.
These include:
Attempting to build the world's first full-size house made entirely out of Lego bricks: he'll even try and plumb in and fearlessly road test a Lego loo, take a dip in a Lego bath and rest his weary head in a giant Lego bed...
...

Re: i've been living in a cave regarding legos
No toys beat Legos. I remember building a motorized crane when I was around 11, and my dad using legos to show me how a differential gearbox worked.
I had two huge plastic bins full of parts. Lego is one of those rare toys that helps to expand your imagination instead of limiting it.
