well he's just being perfectly consistent. He believes the bible to be the word of god. That is, the bible is the highest authority on fact we have access to in written form.

If it says, clearly, that the earth's end will not be man made, then he's just being completely rational based on his beliefs.

The infallibility of scripture is taught to billions of primates on this planet. Frankly I'm surprised more of us don't adopt the same views that this esteemed gentleman does.
