good luck man, hope it works out for ya. this whole eating craze is good. things were getting out of hand for a while... so much shitty food everywhere these days...

6 meals a day? wow... that must take up some time. but i guess once ya get the system down it would get easier... been working on my old beer belly as of late... im fit... dont eat much.. but once or twice a week i tend to hit the beers while at gigs... cant help it... loud music + beer + girls and cigs = my idea of a good night out... sheet

Over last year or two, I'd been experiencing twinges in my shoulders. If I bouldered, or lifted heavy weights, I'd get injured, even if I included warmup sets.

One thing has made a fucking incredible difference - I've not experienced shoulder pain for months, and I'm lifting heavier than I've ever done. I'm almost 32 years old for age reference.

ARM CIRCLES. I start off with 5-10 min on stationary bike until I break a light sweat and feel warm. Then I immediately go to arm circles. I start off with slow controlled small radius circles - after a few circles one way I do them the other way. I gradually increase the radius, while keeping it slow and controlled (the slow controlled circles can get quite hard so don't over do it - I take periodic breaks by doing lose back and forth swings (like a loose exaggerated breast stroke movement). Then when i'm ready I start doing the real dynamic arm circles where it's primarily momentum that keeps them swinging. I find it more natural to do counterclockwise circles than clockwise (I feel weird gratings in my joints if i do em clockwise unless I twist my hands a certain way).

The whole process takes about 3-4 min, and once I'm done, I start my warmup sets.

I do this every time, and I do it before lifting, climbing, or sports.

I've been pain free for months. Not sure which parts of my ritual are key, but I'm sticking with it.

Dynamic warmups can be quite effective.

nice demonstration. Not quite the same as a momentum driven dynamic warmup, but looks like it could be useful. Might start experimenting with that.

but definitely try out the arm circles

exercise a little, lots of fiberous veg (anything green pretty much), clean meat/fish, any carb that is brown/dirty, lots of water. you'll be right, it isn't rocket science.

Yea, seems like I'm on the right track. I'm drinking a fair bit of water, but I don't think I'm drinking as much as I'm supposed to. About 8 glasses of water a day?

I've been walking every day now since saturday for over an hour, mixing it up with some jogging, sprinting and power walking or, pretty close to power walking. My legs and calves can feel it. I can't do a mile in 12 minutes yet with walking, more like 15 to 17 minutes but hopefully as I keep doing this it should get easier. I think I'm gonna go buy a rowing machine to add to my cardio.

Which of these would you buy? I'm thinking the 3rd one at £78.

I wanted to know that a few days ago and found an article which said:

" There are many forms of metabolism going on in your body right now, but the one everyone is talking about it the metabolism of fat. This is actually something that the liver does when it converts stored fat to energy. The liver has other functions, but this is one of its main jobs.

Unfortunately, another of the liver's duties is to pick up the slack for the kidneys, which need plenty of water to work properly. If the kidneys are water-deprived, the liver has to do their work along with its own, lowering its total productivity. It then can't metabolize fat as quickly or efficiently as it could when the kidneys were pulling their own weight. If you allow this to happen, not only are you being unfair to your liver, but you're also setting yourself up to store fat. "
