8.0? Eh, sounds mediocre. But let's see what o'dium predicted.

o'dium wrote:Oh no borke, not just the cast...

The cast is WRITING IT...

The cast is giving the VOICE OVERS...

The original sound effects, location concepts from the first two films that were not used, are used...

And all the original music, including stuff that never made it into the original films, is here...

Plus, you get to be a fifth Ghostbuster, with a custom appearance...?

Fucking hell, it even has online drop in drop out coop, and you CAN cross the streams, just dont be shocked when you die...

Game of the fucking century people. Honestly. The rest may as well pack up and go home.

I think the 1-10 scale dictates a 5 is mediocre..

I concur with your agreement.

1 - 2 = crap
3 - 4 = bad
5 - 6 = mediocre
7 - 8 = good
9 - 10 = awesome

Most games below 8.0 aren't worth playing.

yes.

also, im surprised that most here don't realize that game reviewers have a "grade inflation" of sorts. The average score given out is most definitely not a 5.

That's because game ratings tend to be completely arbitrary scales that are not determined by any form of conditions being evaluated. Most reviews are based off of "gut feeling" judgments which equates to shit-all. A thumbs up or thumbs down scale will tell us just about as much.

i disagree.

of course different review sites have different scales (for example...gamespot generally gives lower scores than IGN) but how does that not tell you more than a simple thumbs up or thumbs down?

i would give a thumbs up to both timesplitters 2 and metal gear solid 3. but if i were to scale them or whatever, id definitely give MGS a 9.8ish or whatever and timesplitters 2 something considerably lower like a 8.0.

what you are essentially saying is that if i give both games a thumbs up, thatll tell you about as much as if i give MGS3 a 9.8 and timesplitters a 8.0--which is clearly wrong.

lol

That is so not true. There are plenty of gems that didn't get high ratings. And to say that something isn't worth playing based on someone else's opinion is fucking retarded.

Dumb sheep.

Exactly. Why some people take game ratings as gospel is beyond me.

Yep. I use ratings as a starting point for whether or not to invest any time considering whether or not I want to play the game. A 6/10 for a game of a genre I like is worth a hell of a lot more than a 9/10 for a game of a genre I don't like. And then there's always demos on XBL. Why read a review when I can just play it?

I deduced that by the fact that out of all the installed games on my PC, only a couple are rated below 8.0 (TR Legend - 7.8 and FEAR 2 - 7.0)

Go ahead and list your underrated "gems".

The list is very long. So what...you'll now play them based on my opinion?

How fucking stupid are you?

Oh dear, looks like simple English just doesn't get through your thick blubber. When did I indicate I play games based solely on reviews and ratings? Oh no, you just assumed it.

I'm the last person to give a shit about ratings, but since it became a topic of discussion in this thread I decided to share the fact that most of the games I play most happen to be rated 8 and above. If your assumptions are right (lol) and I care about ratings, please explain why I haven't been bothered to try Bioshock, Half-Life, Unreal Tournament 2004, etc. Hmm, probably because I just don't find them appealing, regardless of their review scores.

Now go back to stuffing yourself, lardo.

Mazda you haven't played Half Life or even Bioshock...? I can overlook Bio but HL? I think that right there means you have to shut the fuck up about anything on the subject, to be honest...

BTW Atari confirmed its a region free disk world wide, which means that when it hits in America and everywhere else other than the UK in a few days, you can import it and play it on UK 360's...

Which not only means you beat the 6 month wait but you'll also probably end up paying less for it, too...
