open office
When you open a document with open office, it aligns to the left by default. Is there some way to make it align right or center? I couldnt find a way, but I figured some of you guys have been using it for awhile and might know.

Uh, click the 'Centered' or 'Align right' button? Is this a trick question?

Re: open office
Or, alternatively, pick Format > Alignment from the menu.
Re: open office
I know you can click the align button when you open a document, but I was asking if you can change the default setting so it will open to align right automatically
Re: open office
If the document has been created and aligned to the left, it's not the software's job to automatically re-interpret the way the author intended it to display.
Unless I'm misunderstanding the question. Do you want right-align selected by default when you start on a blank document? If so, set it how you want and overwrite the default template.

Re: open office
yes I want it to default to right align when opening a new document.
Do I have to open a document and click the right align tab or can I make it align right by default?

Right, that was sort of non-obvious. Foo's suggestion of overriding the default template is the way to go.
Re: open office
I guess Im not sure how to overwrite the default template
